What visitors say
From the moment I turned into the drive to the moment I left, I enjoyed it all. Such a special place and so lovely to walk around the house and grounds. Parking was plentiful (with an overflow if needed). Entry is through the shop, which is free to go into, and a nice welcome. A map was given and I was glad of the recommendation to visit the house first, there was so much to see through the one-way system. Unfortunately there weren't many flowers to see in the formal gardens, but about half of the walled gardens had plenty. It was lovely to walk down to the private beach and to see the Swiss Cottage on the way. I didn't use the food facilities available. I would return because EH add to the rooms and exhibitions, and there's so much to see

Our first place to visit at Isle of Wright. We managed to get nice sun for a stroll to the beach, a grandpa was teaching his kids how to pilot a boat and it was fun. My kids ate ice cream and we had a picnic by the sea. The house and it's gardens are a site to behold. The Queens writing table window offers a view across the garden and sea like no other. Every corner is exquisitely decorated and detailed. The staff is knowledgeable and even pointed us to the painting of Abdul Karim in the Indian Durbar wing. Worth visiting twice.

English Hertiage Member. Osborne House is well worth a visit if you're visiting the Isle Of Wight. The holiday home of Late Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, beautiful home and gardens, volunteers provided some interesting facts of the Council Room, Drawing & Billard Rooms. Swiss Cottage and Museum is a fair walk however a shuttle bus does run back and forth. Didn't have chance to visit beach (purely down to wet British weather on the day we visited) Gazelle Cafe seating area near could do with parasols for cover when raining. A narrated tour via headset would be appreciated as it difficult to read tour guide book and look around the rooms. Stayed approx 3hrs

A must visit on the Isle of White. There was a Victoria and Albert exhibition on when we visited. Osborne house was their summer home. The house is beautiful, as are the gardens. Most of the house is accessible and there is a structured route of walking through it. There are lots of exhibits to see. A lovely way to spend a few hours.
