Hundalee House is a traditional house in Jedburgh, set within its own garden grounds in the Scottish Borders. The building's character comes through in its homely, adults-only atmosphere, offering a quieter alternative to larger hotels in the area.

Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks provided, while guests can also make use of the on-site spa and sauna after a day out. WOW! What a find! 🤯 Hundalee House was by far the best accommodation we had in our entire Scotland Road Trip. I honestly cannot shout it from the hilltops loud enough how fantastic this place was. 🌟 We were welcomed with open arms by Sheila, a warm, friendly and welcoming host. We arrived a little late as we were planning to head into Jedburgh first for dinner however Shiela had called and left a voicemail checking how we were doing as we had missed the check in time (1930, we didn’t really think about it). How lovely and caring she was, showing us to the room and giving us the brief tour. Room 🛏️ We stayed in a twin room with an on suite bathroom. It was super clean, fresh and immaculately decorated with all modern furnishings. We even had a couple of house Martins in the corner of the window, which indeed had sprawling views of the well tended gardens and forest beyond. Super comfortable beds with an abundance of covers which suit any season. Breakfast 🍳 Served in the central dining room with period decoration, the food was great quality and cooked to perfection with the freshest of ingredients. Eggs straight from the hen and homemade honey and jams all served surrounded by a wonderful collection of decorations. When it was time to leave, we explored the gardens and then left refreshed, ready for the day ahead. We will absolutely return to this spectacular guest house on our next Scottish adventure. Is there anything that could have made this experience better? A Peacock in the garden wouldn’t go amiss, but I suppose this might be a little too much to ask for 😉. The heating was on inside the bedrooms. I understood this to be more for the maintenance of the house itself however I’m sure if it does bother you, they wouldn’t have minded turning the radiator off for you.

We received a very friendly welcome and were personally shown the room under a friendly chat. The rooms were very clean and the beds soft and comfortable. Bathroom clean as well, though the shower didn't have much pressure. Breakfast was very tasty and served with a smile in a very beautiful room. Highly recommend staying here.
