Coldstream Holiday Park

Riverside touring and camping park in Coldstream, 9 miles from Kelso
About Coldstream Holiday Park
Coldstream Holiday Park commands a prime spot above the River Tweed with sweeping views toward the Cheviot and Eildon Hills. The touring side of this mixed park feels separate from the static homes, offering 20 grass pitches (half with hookup), hardstanding for caravans and motorhomes, plus four cosy camping pods for anyone travelling without a tent. A children's play area keeps younger campers busy, and dogs are welcome throughout.
It's a 15-minute stroll into Coldstream for shops, cafes and the local museum, sparing you the car for provisions. Anglers make a beeline for the Tweed's salmon and trout beats nearby, while six golf courses sit within half an hour's drive. The park stays open nearly year-round, making it a solid base for Kelso Racecourse, Floors Castle and the annual Border Union Show. Some visitors find the facilities could use a refresh, but the riverside location and fishing access more than compensate for most.

What visitors say
We stayed with our tent for 2 nights at very short notice. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Checking in was very easy. The site was busy, but the pitches are well spaced out with defined tent and parking areas ensuring the tents are not on top of each other. Dogs are allowed. Facilities block was easy to get to from the furthest away tent pitch. The showers were on a push button timer, which kept switching off very quickly - a bit annoying! The facilities were clean however, and maintained that way across the weekend. There is a small fridge freezer for shared cold storage, and two small microwave ovens in the pot wash room. Camp fires are allowed - so long as they are off the ground. There are lots of static vans and ‘pods’ on the site some with hot tubs which looked nice. Coldstream (the local town)is worth a visit - you can walk from Scotland to England across a bridge over the river Tweed - good just to say you have! There are also many historical buildings which are also worth looking at, as well as the river walks and views across the countryside.

We loved this place its so clean and check in/out was very easy no hassle at all.play park for kids and 5 min drive into little town. The welcome booklet gives you info about eating places and even takeaways which was so handy. We stayed 3 nights. Unfortunately on the last night we were in the middle of two pods who were visiting together and they kept crossing the grass between the pods so we had barely any privacy which is definitely not the parks fault. The family then said they were having a bbq which was nice of them to tell us to close our window but then this went on to burning wood and then sitting directly under our window to past 11pm. We tried to hold off saying anything as we understand people are on holiday but we had a toddler with us that we struggled to get to sleep and we were awake to early hours which wasnt great for driving home on same day! I'm just glad it was our last night but the window didn't close completely to block out the noise as they were up first thing in the morning again. We were in pod 101 and the 2 families were either side. They had no consideration for other people or kids especially burning wood as we couldn't keep our window or door open and it was a hot day as well so please bare in mind the people around you and to go around the front way and not the back as its taking away privacy of the hot tub etc. Would still recommend people to visit tho as park was lovely! 😊 bed and sofa bed also very comfy! Me, my husband and little girl slept like babies lol

Stayed for 4 nights in our RV, good size pitch (T2) which fitted our 8m American motorhome easily. Staff are great, friendly and keep the place nice and clean. It was 28/29 degrees when there and the poor team cleaning must have been exhausted, but still took time to ensure we are ok - especially or old dog that struggled with the heat. We'll be back soon 👍🏻

We had a stay here during the heatwave there where extras such as cool mats, dog towels, a dog bed and covers on all the furniture which was fantastic as we usually feel we have to be cautious with where the dog sits ect. but felt very at home here our dog settled right in and so did we rooms and bedding all very clean and tidy. Enclosed deck so the dog can roam freely There was even a spare HDMI cable to plug in our Roku box lovely touch! Oh and boards games, books and an Alexa to play music.
