Skye sits on a small family-run holiday park near Coldstream, with views across the River Tweed. The entire cottage is on one level—three steps lead to the entrance and then you're into a generous open-plan space where the kitchen, dining and living areas flow together. A Smart TV and electric fire occupy one end; the kitchen has a gas hob and electric oven for proper cooking. Three bedrooms branch off from this central area: one with a double bed and its own ensuite toilet, two others with single beds. A shower room with cubicle serves the rest of the property.

The essentials are covered—heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels included—plus there's a welcome pack on arrival. One dog stays free. The front garden has a patio with furniture, and parking for two cars is on site. Smoking is not permitted. The layout makes it manageable for families or groups who don't want to navigate stairs; the open-plan kitchen and living space means whoever's cooking isn't cut off from everyone else.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Isle of Skye was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our Scotland trip. The island is blessed with breathtaking landscapes—dramatic mountains, rugged coastline, waterfalls, green valleys and beautiful lochs. Almost every turn on the road presents another picture-perfect view. Driving around Skye is an experience in itself. The changing weather, clouds drifting over the mountains and spectacular Highland scenery give the island a magical character. There are plenty of places where you simply want to stop, admire the surroundings and take photographs. The peaceful atmosphere and raw natural beauty make Skye very different from a typical tourist destination. If you enjoy mountains, scenic drives, photography and nature, the Isle of Skye is an absolute must-visit. A truly unforgettable part of Scotland that I would happily visit again!

Visiting the Isle of Skye was, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable experiences of my life. From the moment I crossed the bridge and entered the island, I felt like I was stepping into a fairytale setting, where nature rules with overwhelming force and beauty. What struck me the most was the dramatic diversity of the landscapes. Walking through the Quiraing is like exploring another planet; the rock formations sculpted by ancient landslips create an almost mystical visual, especially when the morning mist begins to clear between the cliffs. Shortly after, hiking up to the Old Man of Storr makes you truly feel your insignificance standing before stone giants rising proudly against the horizon. Another highlight was the magic of the Fairy Pools. Even with the chilly water, the crystal clarity and vibrant shades of blue and green in the natural pools created by the River Brittle invite quiet contemplation. And, of course, I cannot fail to mention the warm hospitality in local villages like Portree, where I recharged my energy enjoying the local cuisine and chatting with locals always eager to share ancient legends about the place. Skye is not just an ordinary tourist destination; it is a wild refuge that deeply stirs the senses. Every ray of sunlight tearing through the cloudy sky and every gust of wind carrying history make this corner of Scotland absolutely unforgettable. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a genuine and raw connection with nature.
