About Waters Edge Caravan Park

Tucked beside the River Bela just south of Kendal, Waters Edge Caravan Park strikes a fine balance between peaceful riverside setting and easy access to both the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Spacious, level pitches – from grass tent plots to electric hardstanding – are complemented by immaculately maintained facilities, including spotless modern shower blocks and a handy dog wash station. The on-site bar and small shop cover essentials, while riverside footpaths offer gentle strolls right from your pitch.

Staff earn consistent praise for their helpfulness, and there's enough on offer to keep families entertained without feeling overcrowded – think games room, fishing pegs, and nearby kayaking or cycling. Some visitors note that certain areas can feel a touch tired in places, but the welcome is warm and the location hard to beat for exploring this corner of Cumbria without the crowds of the central Lakes.

The site itself was clean, peaceful and well looked after. One of my favourite parts was the short walk along the river — really relaxing and a lovely place to unwind, especially with the dog. There’s also a handy dog wash area which is a nice touch after muddy walks 🐶 The shower block was clean with: • 2 male showers • 2 private sinks with seats A couple of little things let it down slightly for me: * The bar closing at 6pm felt far too early * No seating inside the shower cubicles * No hair dryer in the male facilities That said, there is a pub right next door which made up for the early closing bar 🍺 Overall though, a peaceful and enjoyable stay and I’d definitely return.

This is a lovely caravan and campervan stopover. The staff are well organised, there is a small shop to get your essentials.Bar area on site, opening times may vary.Dog friendly ,however dogs must be kept on a lead as this is a family park and children are out playing.Toilets have recently been refurbished.washing up area is good also,Disabled toilets also with level access.Laundry could do with a bit of TLC .£5.00 to operate the washing machines pound coins only. Wi fi is on the park please ask at reception for the password. Its location is 5mins from the M6 and the Lakes are close by.

A lovely small caravan site for tourers and Motorhomes. It also has several static vans which appear to be just for the owners. Theres a teeny bar and shop on site providing the essentials ( 🍻and 🍫😃) A nice friendly helpful chap on site. The owner? The site has a small river running alongside which is lovely and peaceful to listen to. The toilets and showers are great. Plentiful, very clean and modern. There’s also a pot wash. There’s a hotel just outside of the site called Crooklands which seemed very popular. We had a couple of drinks here and they also serve food. There is also a bus stop which takes you to Kirkby Lonsdale and also to Kendal. We would return.
