We turned up early and got into the caravan early, unfortunately before we could use anything my wife had to clean it, the shower was dirty with mould around the seals and muddy footprints in the bottom. What really gave the holiday a bad experience for us as a military family was the smell of cannabis everywhere, as a member of HM Forces I am regularly CDT'd (Compulsorily Drugs Tested) as even "passively" I could lose my job, having my wife and our 3 young children with me it wasn't pleasant for them to be smothered in cannabis smoke either... The caravan bedrooms were tiny and very clostraphobic The living space was OK Kitchen could have been better a table that suits 4 people isn't great for a family of 5, nor is the 3 bowls or 3 glasses etc it just was set up for the 6 people that the caravan allowed. I told my wife about harts holiday site, as I visited about 11,12 years ago with my ex partner, so was disappointed to find that to me it had gone down hill. The only positive I have is that the Clubhouse was a good vibe for kids entertainment of an evening, but saying that bingo has risen in price along with the beverages, £7 for a bottle of cider!!!! 3 for £5 in tesco or aldi Laundrette Make sure if you use the laundrette you have money on your card as its contactless payments only. Amusements The amusements room had NO A/C so was like a desert in there. For a family/couple whom are Non Smokers/Vapors lots of fag butts outside the caravan with our youngest wanting to pick them up all the time having to tell him no that its disgusting, not his faults he's only 2 years old but Not the point. The litter was everywhere. Swimming pool You have to book the swimming pool everyday if you want to use it and show your members card or you won't gain entry, the staff were very rude about this to my wife on entry to the pool. Both pools were very cold and you only got 45 mins then you were abruptly told to vacate the pools, also teens shouldn't be allowed in the baby pool they had a massive swimming pool. Unfortunately we definitely would NOT be visiting again as a family and will be passed on to bluelight discounts about the drug taking that happens there.

2 separate visits both this year. First one: Only issue was a load of cobwebs as seen. Dealt with by cleaners the following morning. Second visit: cobwebs, poo smear outside of toilet bowl and sink. Mould all over shower, bed linen not changed. No cleaning staff or customer service staff after 5pm so no chance of getting help. Found a warden who dropped off linen which I then had to change. Worse than this though is on the Wednesday. We went for a day visit to Dover castle (an hour away). We double checked all curtains closed and windows on the latch due to heat. Door was definitely locked on leaving. When we returned our door was wide open along with the twin bedroom window and curtain pulled open. We left that evening even though we were booked for an extra two nights. Customer service is poor. Only one warden to speak to when handing in key. He said that we would expect a call from the management the next morning. This did not happen. Only one attempt to contact us took place which was late on Friday as we were driving. It’s now the following Monday and still no contact. Please do not expect any form of service from this team. A little reply on trip advisor is all. Which does not give me any hope for the future of this site. Park holidays please visit this site and make sure that everything is in place to keep your reputation.

Don’t get me wrong loved the vibes at the clubhouse for kids and adults. Plenty of things near the park to keep kids happy also too. And an awesome pie and mash shop around the corner! The park looks clean and tidy and views are gorgeous from the park in areas. But the caravan drains stunk like rotten eggs in the disability caravan and all three of my family caravans was dirty carpets covered in pet hair and fleas and the bed slats are missing a couple and the cleaner obviously has poor eyesight to miss the amount they do! I saw people being kicked off site for minimal reasons and it’s a zero noise after 10pm-7am so if your a loud or have anyone causing noise or arguing you can be evicted from the site in the morning I witnessed a family who had a daughters birthday that day being kicked off because the dad got drunk and was shouting about and arguments happened resulting in being kicked out. You won’t get a welcome pack so bring your own loo roll and washing up liquid and sponge. TVs are old and the Wifi it expensive and still doesn’t work well imagine being in the worst signal ever yep that’s it.. But if you can handle going to the clubhouse for free wifi to do everything and spend more to sit there to catch up on emails or facebook then your sorted. Don’t bother ring up for housekeeping to come bring a hoover or anything they won’t show or let you use it and their version of cleaning is like a quick damp wipe without elbow power.. But it’s leysdown and unless your here for the old style vibes it’s not for you..!

Never again – first and last visit. After a 6-hour drive, stuck in traffic, we arrived late around 11pm. I went to the bar with my 8-year-old child and our dog just to buy a bottle of water for my child, who was very thirsty. We were refused service because dogs are not allowed in the bar – even though I had paid extra to bring the dog. I explained several times that I only needed to quickly buy water for my child and would leave immediately, but the staff member (Kayhan) was extremely rude and still refused. It was shocking and completely lacking in basic compassion – my child was left thirsty after a long journey. On top of that, the caravan itself was dirty and smelled strongly of weed, which made the experience even worse. Overall, a terrible first experience – and definitely the last. I would not recommend. If it were possible, I would give zero stars. One star is far more than this experience deserves.
