The Old Chequers
King's Lynn and West Norfolk
View on Google MapsThe North Norfolk coast is within reach for a day trip, and the village of South Creake itself has a working church and access to quiet countryside walks. The Old Chequers, a Georgian property dating to the 1700s, works well for groups wanting a proper base for exploring the area or simply gathering in one place. It sleeps 14 across six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, so there's no queuing for the shower in the morning.
The ground floor has two reception rooms—one with a woodburner—plus a conservatory opening onto a south-west facing walled garden. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking from scratch, with a range cooker and breakfast bar for informal meals. Upstairs are the six bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link super-king, two more with zip-and-link super-kings (which split into singles if needed), and three with kingsize beds. Each bedroom has an ensuite; most have both bath and walk-in shower. There's also a games room with pool table and arcade machines, and a workspace with a wall-mounted screen if anyone needs to work remotely.
The rear garden has a wood-fired hot tub for eight, a firepit, and garden furniture. Parking for three cars is private. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The property is non-smoking, and there is an unfenced stream in the garden. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
