We came for tea on a Sunday evening whist staying nearby. We walked into town via Ruskin’s View and were ready for some food. A really friendly welcome from the landlord and the waitress. This place has a great atmosphere which is clearly appreciated by visitors and locals alike. For food, I had a Caesar salad which was tasty and a good size. Maybe a slice of garlic bread would have been nice with this? My husband had a lamb dinner which he really enjoyed. Our Dogs were treated to some sausages and plenty of fuss. It’s not a cheap place to eat but the food is really good and we would definitely return when we’re in the area again.

A last minute booking and we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very well appreciated and comfortable. The location was good in the center of the town but only a minute or two walk to green field views. Generally exceeded our expectations Just need to be aware no parking on site and the traffic wardens are quite keen. Stairs could be an issue for those with restricted mobility. Overall a great short stay would happily return.

We love it here! The food was delicious—although we did feel it was a little on the pricey side (£19.95 for fish and chips), but that may just be the going rate these days. Our dog was made to feel very welcome, which we really appreciated. The place itself is lovely—clean, beautifully decorated, and with plenty of tables and booths to sit comfortably. We ordered three mains, a starter, and four drinks, which came to just under £100 including tip. One thing that really stood out was the service. Our child ordered the mussels, but they were a bit too spicy. The manager kindly came over to check on her, and when she mentioned it, he replaced the entire dish with a fresh bowl in a white wine and garlic sauce. Such a thoughtful gesture, especially as it was our mistake. Really lovely place with genuinely friendly, attentive staff. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
