What visitors say
The last time we visited this place was many years ago and I have to say the food was not brilliant and for that reason we stopped going. Today was very different the food was all cooked to perfection and the service we got was excellent. We ordered two steaks and a mixed grill all were well presented and delicious, we even managed a desert. The menu is varied offering something for the whole family and the food is good value for money, we went off peak as we know from previous visits it gets very busy at the weekend. So if you haven’t been for a while try it again.

Travelled here to eat as it stood out for keeping the kids occupied whilst we ate! Honestly cannot fault Castlewood Brewers Fayre! The food was great, for both the kids & us adults! The bit that really set it off for us was that you can actually sit IN the play area (or as close as) and eat food whilst keeping a close eye on the little ones. I’d say that the price of food was definitely fair and with a selection of bottomless drinks, also very handy whilst sat in the play area for a while or so. The staff were polite and attentive. Food was hot when it got to the table so there’s no reason for us to moan. Will definitely be returning as the kids had a blast, now they know the place I’d imagine that next time will be even better!

I visited on Tuesday and unfortunately had a really uncomfortable experience while ordering. I completely understand that working in a busy pub is a tough job, but the male server on the till had a really poor attitude. While he didn't shout, his tone and manner were incredibly dismissive and hostile, making me feel very unwelcome. I did speak to the manager on duty about this before leaving, as I felt it shouldn't be ignored. The food itself was fine, but the front-of-house service really needs addressing.

This family-style restaurant is praised for its good quality food, popular breakfast buffet, reasonable prices, indoor play area for children, and friendly staff.
Other reviews mention the service can be unhelpful and slow.
