Eider Cottage

Built from stone and Grade II listed, Eider Cottage is a semi-detached weaver's cottage occupying an elevated position on a quiet street in Holmfirth. The building retains period character throughout: mullioned windows, exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace survive across its three floors, connected by an original stone staircase. The layout means steep internal steps and cobbled terrain outside, which may challenge anyone with mobility difficulties.

Two bedrooms sleep four: a super kingsize on the first floor and a double on the ground floor, served by a shower room. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering—range cooker, dishwasher and fridge included—and opens to a dining and living area with smart TV. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. Outside, a split-level terrace looks across Holmfirth town, and a private hot tub is available to hire. The enclosed garden has patio space and barbecue. Parking is on road nearby. One well-behaved pet is welcome; smoking is not.

Holmfirth offers independent shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs within a couple of minutes' walk. The Peak District National Park edges the town, making it a base for walking and cycling. The location doubles as film-location territory for Last of the Summer Wine and hosts live music venues.
