Little Badger Cottage works well for couples seeking a weekend away within reach of the Peak District and Yorkshire's cultural attractions. The single bedroom contains a double bed and an in-room freestanding bath—unusual enough to feel like a treat. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space has a wood-burning stove, a working kitchen, and a 50" smart TV. One bathroom with walk-in shower serves the ground floor. The cottage is set on a private lane between Kirkburton and Emley, with countryside views and the Emley Moor Mast visible from the front.
Essentials are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial fuel for the stove. A welcome pack awaits. Outside there's an enclosed garden with patio and seating, plus secure bike storage and on-road parking. Kirkburton village, about a mile away, has shops and pubs; a farm shop and café are 1½ miles off. The National Mining Museum is a ten-minute drive, Yorkshire Sculpture Park fifteen minutes, and Cannon Hall or The Hepworth Gallery twenty minutes. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside.

Just returned from this lovely cottage. Beautiful countryside location. Everything we needed for a relaxing week. We didn’t need the log burner but took advantage of the cool interior of the cottage in the heatwave! It was spotless. Well thought out. Huge bath, shower and TV. Would love to go back.

We absolutely fell in love with this place! If you haven’t stayed at the little badger cottage, I highly recommend it! Willow Bean and I had the most relaxing Weeknd, walking into the local Village and around the footpaths that were ever so incredibly pretty. I would consider this the best kept secret and such a lovely little cottage. People were so friendly and the little cottage just wrapped us in love. Will definitely be back! Thank you, Tracey for being such a lovely host. The wine and crisps and milk for tea you left for us was just the icing on the cake. Thanks again from a grateful girl from Southern California. And Willow Bean a grateful rescue from London. Sharon and Willow bean 2026

We had a lovely stay at your cottage just what we were looking for, enclosed garden to keep the dog in, lovely and quiet with the exception of the local farmers busy harvesting but that didn't bother us the slightest, both the neighbours were very friendly and happy to have a chat and recommend things. The cottage is clean and homely, the little extras were lovely, the dog was even catered for which was a nice change, the furnishings were great and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone, a cosy little cottage - we loved it
