About Goldsborough Hall
Goldsborough Hall is a 400-year-old stately home in the village of Goldsborough, a couple of miles outside Knaresborough, once the private residence of Princess Mary during the 1920s. The Hall carries its royal history lightly, mixing original oak-beamed ceilings and antique furnishings with modern comforts across the Main Hall, an adjoining 1800s Dower House and a separate Garden House.
Rooms are split across categories including Garden Luxury and Luxury King suites, each with an en suite bathroom, a large television and views over either the courtyard or the twelve acres of historic gardens. The gardens themselves, with their walled kitchen garden and lily pond, are as much a reason to stay as the rooms.
Dining takes place in the Hall's AA 3-Rosette restaurant, drawing on produce from the estate's own gardens, and the whole property is geared toward a slower, more indulgent style of stay rather than a convenient overnight stop. It suits couples marking an anniversary or visitors wanting a genuine country-house experience within easy reach of Knaresborough and Harrogate.

What guests say
When we were searching for wedding venues in Yorkshire, Goldsborough Hall stood out immediately for the quality of its offering, value for money, and the beauty of the setting. There were so many reasons we chose it: the history of the hall, the stunning landscape, the beautifully kept gardens, the elegant rooms for the wedding party, the on-site chapel, and the fantastic food, including genuinely excellent Yorkshire puddings! Most importantly, the team were warm, friendly, organised, and clearly very experienced. Alison, our wedding planner at Goldsborough Hall, was absolutely brilliant. She was incredibly organised, proactive, and excellent with communication throughout the whole process. The wider team and staff on the day were also fantastic, and everything ran so smoothly. Our guests were so impressed by the quality of the food and the venue itself. Goldsborough Hall is such a beautiful place that it makes an impression whatever the weather. On the wedding day, my husband and I kept saying to each other that choosing Goldsborough Hall was one of the best decisions we made, and it played such a huge part in making our wedding the best day of our lives. We are so grateful to Alison and the whole team for being absolute stars. We were so happy with our experience and will definitely continue visiting whenever we are back in Yorkshire. I couldn’t recommend Goldsborough Hall more highly as a wedding venue.

We just love Goldsborough Hall and will be returning.

Went for food here in the afternoon and it was very nice. Beef bourguignon was amazing and generous portions, chicken was also very good. Cheesecake portion was very small but the sticky toffee pudding was lovely. Staff were great, would definitely recommend and would love to return

We stayed here for one night on our way up to Scotland. We had a lovely time here with the limited time we have, everyone was very polite and attentive. Dinner was delicious and the hall and grounds are beautiful. Our little boy loved exploring :). Highly recommend and we will certainly be returning.
