About Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere
Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere occupies a 157-acre estate around a private lake on the edge of Knutsford, close enough to Manchester Airport for an early flight yet set deep enough in parkland to feel entirely rural. The resort's 116 rooms and suites range from standard doubles to lakeside suites, and the grounds include an 18-hole championship golf course originally laid out by James Braid.
Dining is a genuine draw here, with a restaurant from Gordon Ramsay's group among the resort's several venues, alongside bars and more informal options. The spa runs to a twenty-metre pool, vitality pool, sauna, steam rooms and a full treatment menu, while padel courts and a driving range add to the leisure offering beyond the golf course itself.
The resort suits visitors wanting a full country house experience with genuine five-star facilities rather than a simple overnight stop, and its position just off the M56 and M6 makes it a practical base for exploring Knutsford, Tatton Park and the wider Cheshire countryside despite its resort scale.

Stunning grounds the real star of the show absolutely gorgeous, high tech rooms(a bit too tech) bit on the small side. Strange chairs really heavy and awkward to move. You are only allowed 2 hours in the spa. The food was disappointing. Breakfast in particular . Sides incurred an additional £6.00 charge

Had a fantastic evening at Fairmont Cheshire The Mere. From the minute we arrived in our taxi to leaving at the end of the night every member of staff were excellent and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble, I asked where the other bar was and we got escorted by a member of staff, the service is much more than 5 star. We went for dinner at Gordon Ramsay restaurant located just off the orangery and sampled world class food and fantastic service our waiter was in a class of his own and looked after us all evening, Andre B made our experience from 5 star to 6. I couldn't fault the whole experience and on the first Saturday and only the second night after opening. Wow what a beautiful place we will be back soon.

I recently DJed at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere for the new Gordon Ramsay restaurant and had such a great experience from start to finish. As soon as I arrived, Ben and Charles were straight over helping me get all my equipment into the venue. Both really chatty, helpful and welcoming, and it immediately gave me a great first impression of the hotel. John was also around throughout the day and again, really friendly and always happy to help. I also got to meet Gary, the Resort Manager before my DJ set. Who made me feel welcome before I’d even started. A massive shoutout to Georgia as well, who organised my booking and was so easy to work with from start to finish. She was constantly checking that I had everything I needed and just made the whole day really easy. Then, to top it all off, at the end of my shift Paul, the Security Manager, took the time to give me a full tour of the hotel, showing me around and explaining everything about the place. He genuinely couldn’t have been nicer. The hotel itself is absolutely unreal, but the biggest thing I took away from the day was how welcoming everyone was. From arriving with all my kit to leaving at the end of the night, everyone I met was friendly, chatty and couldn’t do enough to help. Really great experience and a brilliant team of people. Thanks for having me!
