About The Mere Golf Resort & Spa

A golf course with greens praised for rolling true and a layout that keeps players on their toes sets The Mere Golf Resort & Spa apart from the average Cheshire hotel. The resort sits on Chester Road, a few miles from Knutsford, with Tatton Park nearby as a further point of interest for anyone extending the trip beyond the fairways.

The 81 rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and room service, with accessible rooms and a lift available for those who need them. Beyond golf, guests have use of an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa with sauna, along with a garden and outdoor seating for quieter moments. The restaurant and bar have built a reputation for hearty, well-executed food, fish and chips among the dishes singled out, and the staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive, with service that leaves people feeling well looked after.

Meeting rooms and wedding facilities make it suitable for events as well as leisure stays, and free on-site parking is provided throughout. A pub, restaurant and further entertainment can be found nearby, while the golf course itself remains the clear draw for anyone booking a stay here.

We have previously stayed at the Mere on different occasions and popped in for a drink and to see how the transformation was taking shape and when it would be completed. We were greeted by Sue at the treehouse restaurant who was a delightful host, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. She even kindly gave our small group a personal tour of the golf course and the entire site talking us through the details of the changes. A place that we were already very fond of looks to be even more spectacular when it opens fully later this summer. Thank you Sue

Another level for Cheshire. We booked for a graduation. What a wonderful place this is now. But get used to the high prices. Once we had got our heads round the menu and decided to ignore the high prices we had a fantastic meal. Our highlight had to be the team, our waiter was a knowledgeable and friendly Portuguese chap (sorry can’t remember his name) who made our evening. The place is fabulous but the staff are just what makes the Mere. We went away wondering why we haven’t had service like that in the last 20 years Memorable and utterly perfect 👌 (if you ignore the price)

A few weeks back I and two friends stopped into The Mere to see how the re-development was going. We were met and looked after by a terrific team member called Susan. Alongside providing friendly service at the temporary marquee / reception she updated us with the great progress being made and then took us on a guided tour around the property. This was a great experience and we look forward to visiting again soon! Thanks Susan!

If you spend £125 to play here your bonkers. There is no practice or putting facilities until the back end of summer.Driving range is shut its a building site at the moment.I understand they need to do work on the place but charge less until its right and finished. Its a 50 to 60 pounds course tops.I've played a lot of courses better than here for less than 60 pounds. Its a golf course with fancy houses around it that's it,it's nothing special.Portal championship course is better down the road only 55 pounds. High leigh golf club is just as good 10 mins away and nowhere near the price.Just a corporate place now it will be £140 a round soon to cover all of the building work going on.Support your local courses people who appreciate you playing there because the mere didn't .They never asked if we was ok or did we enjoy our day or experience we was just sat in a big gazebo or green house what is temporary as there is no clubhouse until its finished and then you can pay 8 pounds a pint for a disappointing day at the mere.
