Mere Court began life as a private residence built in 1903 and has since been restored as a country house hotel standing in seven acres of landscaped gardens, including an ornamental lake that gives the grounds much of their character. The hotel sits just outside Knutsford in the village of Mere, around ten minutes from Manchester Airport.
Rooms are traditionally furnished in keeping with the building's Edwardian origins, and the hotel's restaurant makes use of the garden setting for both dining and, frequently, weddings, which form a significant part of the property's business. The grounds themselves are worth a walk regardless of the season.

From the moment I visited Mere Court I knew this was my place to hold my wedding! The grounds are so peaceful and the charm of the hotel is delightful. The Bridal Suite was stunning and was extremely large to enable us to enjoy the morning as a group getting ready! Guests also commented on how large their rooms were and how unique the hotel was! The flow of the wedding rooms works extremely well, we got married in the conservatory overlooking the lake and then used the fantastic grounds for our cocktail hours. The new owner and his staff are just fantastic! We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect venue that all our guests enjoyed and commented on how wonderful our day had been! The food was amazing, they controlled the day extremely well we were never left wondering what was happening and when it all just naturally flowed and believe me on your wedding day this is exactly what you require! If you charm and character this is certainly the hotel for you! What a fabulous day. Thank you to all at Mere Court. Memories were made that were captured forever in such a beautiful place!

Attended an event held at this venue today. The place itself is stunning, very clean and tidy and the grounds are impeccable. However the service and attitude of your staff needs serious attention. Bar staff very slow and uninterested, organisers of our event were clearly stressed by your lack of organisation when getting the room ready. The room itself was far too hot, many vendors and guest were complaining about this. I also noticed a couple of disabled guests struggling for access to the room. Not good enough from the venue in my opinion.

A beautiful building in a lovely setting. A large and very comfortable bedroom with a great four poster bed. All the staff are very friendly and the evening meal was 5 star quality.

We had our wedding here, it was the best day ever. The staff and owner were brilliant and made everything run like clockwork. The food was served hot and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Sam was particularly awesome in coordinating everything. All our guests were very complimentary. Good old fashioned service from an Independant hotel.
