About The Oak Inn Staplow
Ledbury, tucked into the Herefordshire countryside, is the kind of market town best explored on foot, with walking routes and local pubs close by. Just outside it on the Bromyard Road, The Oak Inn Staplow combines a working pub with a small hotel, giving visitors a base that feels rooted in the area rather than bolted on for tourists.
Rooms are straightforward and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, family options, drinks available in room, and free WiFi throughout. Downstairs is where the inn earns its reputation: a restaurant and bar serving hearty, homemade dishes in generous portions, from Sunday roasts to steak pie, alongside a breakfast service for residents. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, staff are attentive to dietary needs, and dogs are genuinely welcome rather than just tolerated.
There's a garden for warmer days, meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay, and practical extras including laundry service, luggage storage and 24-hour reception. Fishing, walking areas, and further pubs and restaurants are all within easy reach, making it a sensible stop for anyone exploring the Herefordshire countryside around Ledbury.

What guests say
The Oak is a real delight! It had a lovely atmosphere when we walked in and exceptionally friendly staff to greet us. The menu looked great, with two vegan options to chose from. The nut roast with veg and delicious chips was really tasty and a great size portion. We were both really impressed with the friendliness of all the team, it's a really great place and highly recommended.

Fantastic countryside pub. Walked here from our glamping location through an orchard and along a field. Arrived to find great service from friendly staff, who didn't mind making multiple pints of lime and soda along with fewer pints of HPA and Bathams. Food was great. Nice set of options for adults, and an expansive kids menu too. Our table had chicken ceaser salads, salmon salads, calamari and a BLT. All went down well. Great ice-cream choices for pudding, but the roulade was something else - wow. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

I stayed a night, the room and bathroom were both large very well appointed with quality furnishings and use of lovely oak. The pub was wonderfully busy, the bitter I had was superb and an award winner. The menu was varied with specials, I had there home made turkey and ham pie, it was absolutely brilliant, the best I have had in a pub, great chunks of quality meat, some carrots and delicious gravy, savoy cabbage with leaks and the best chunky chips I can remember having had perhaps anywhere, dark golden brown and crisp. The service I received was extremely friendly. The next morning I had a full English breakfast which was superb, quality bacon, sausage, mushrooms, baby tomatoes… A real gem of a place, thank you.

Went for the Sunday roast and then back again for a steak pie. Absolutely top class food, it'll be tough to find somewhere to beat the roast and the pie was massive and packed full of high quality steak! You couldn't ask for better service and atmosphere!
