About Anzio Heights
There's a fascinating heritage angle to Anzio Heights – this intimate Staffordshire site occupies what was once an army barracks and Polish resettlement camp, and as you wander around you'll spot some of the old buildings that still stand. These days the atmosphere is refreshingly peaceful rather than regimented, with modern amenities, a play area for children, and even a pair of resident donkeys to meet.
Just outside Blackshaw Moor village, the site makes an excellent base for exploring the nearby Peak District. The Roaches and Manifold Way are within easy reach for walking and cycling, while Rudyard Lake offers watersports and fishing. Families might fancy a day at Peak Wildlife Park or Alton Towers, and the handsome spa town of Buxton is only fifteen minutes' drive. Leek, five minutes away, covers your shopping and dining needs, though there's also a farm shop and pub within walking distance if you'd rather stretch your legs.

What visitors say
Gorgeous, peaceful campsite. Felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Owners are extremely helpful, have done a fabulous job of creating a little peaceful haven! They put us in a shady spot since we have a dog, which was hugely appreciated due to the heatwave. The pitches feel very private and surrounded by lots of trees. The resident donkeys are a bonus. Beautiful walks nearby and great pubs to visit. We will definitely return! Thankyou for a lovely stay ♡

We absolutely loved our stay at Anzio Heights! The owners were so friendly and helpful, so straight away we felt at home. Our two boys (4 & 9) really enjoyed playing on the park, visiting the donkeys and splashing about in the pool. They had so much fun and already excited to come back. Our pitch size was excellent and we had everything we needed. The shower in the morning was lovely and nice and warm. Thank you so much for having us at your adorable little campsite. We will be back soon!

What a lovely place to have a break. Anzio Heights camping site not far from the Roaches at Blackshire Moore is run by a couple with two young children who are friendly, hospitable and extremely helpful ( thanks again for the water butts Louis they worked a treat). We took our 8 year old granddaughter on her first trip in our campervan and we chose this site because it looked to be the best kid friendly in the area and we were well pleased when we got there. The pitches themselves are very large, mostly hard standing and solid concrete underneath ( if you want to use any kind of tent pegs ask for soft pitch ) there are no hookups but that's not such a problem these days. Amenities are nice and spotless, there is a chemical waste onsite and outside washing up facilities which was really cute because all the kids seemed to want to wash the plates and all huddled around the sink together. If the weather is fine Louis generally does donkey rides on a Saturday with the resident 3 donkeys. There's a kids play area with a slide, swings and a sunken trampoline and a sunken paddling pool. For Owners Louis and Diana this is their first season and they live on site with everyone else in the community. Our granddaughter Eliza made friends with their children D and V and can't wait to go again which we will, but maybe it will be next year now as we're running out of summer. Louis and Diana we had a lovely time thanks for all your help see you again Neil Jo and Eliza.
