About Travelodge Leicester City Centre

The Haymarket Centre sits right in the middle of Leicester, surrounded by shops, restaurants and the city's pubs and bars, with the Cathedral just a short walk away, and it's here that Travelodge Leicester City Centre makes its home. It's a handy base for a city break or for exploring what the town centre has to offer, though a few guests have found the exact entrance a little tricky to spot on first approach.

The hotel has 67 rooms spread across three floors, served by a lift, with family rooms and en-suite bathrooms throughout. Beds and air conditioning are consistently mentioned as strong points, and rooms come with drinks available to order. Reception operates around the clock, and pets are welcome for those travelling with an animal in tow.

There's no restaurant on site, but eateries, pubs and entertainment are all close by in the surrounding streets. Parking isn't free but is available nearby at the Haymarket Centre Car Park on Belgrave Gate, about three minutes on foot from the hotel. Staff are regularly described as helpful, which counts for a lot when you're finding your feet in a new city.

Room is basic but amazing for the price. The entrance can be a bit cryptic but eventually I found the intercom button and the dude on reception let me straight up (the automatic doors swing outwards so stand back) Really cheap but great value, I'd definitely stay here again. Oh, and there are a lot of stairs and no ground floor roomsbut the lifts work and there are stair lifts which facilitate access for wheelchair users, though this might add a slight inconvenience. The staff seem really helpful though and are here 24 hours so I can't imagine it'd be too bad

Location is what it is, at the top of a multi story shopping centre, which isn't amazingly signposted. Rooms are cheap, hence the quality, being a bit low. The bed was fine, there wasn't much else in the room to review. A kettle, a tiny desk and a lamp. No soap or shampoo in any of the dispensers, which the staff were very apologetic about but not ideal finding out mid shower that they are empty. In summary, cheap, and it shows.

Overall a positive experience but a mix of highs and lows. Firstly getting to this hotel is a nightmare if you don’t bring a car. The main entrance is located in a pay to access car park, so naturally cabs will drop you off at the bottom and you need to make your way up 3 or 4 stories. There’s an exit/entrance on the high street by the primark but you can only access it once you’ve got your card and checked in. The staff were really helpful as I checked in around 3 or 4 am and got everything sorted for me really fast. The room itself was great as you can see in the video, only slight downer was not having a hair dryer and poor WiFi. For the price and being in the city centre, you’re getting a really good deal here and I’d definitely come again with the knowledge I have now.

Rooms were ok, air con was good. Decor needs a freshen up. Beds were pk but bedding felt cheap. Perfect location. Lots of stairs.
