A lovely experience in a beautiful setting. The aquarium is easy to reach and has convenient parking. You can buy combined tickets with other nearby activities, although we chose admission to the aquarium only, and it was definitely worth it. There is plenty to see, including local freshwater fish, otters, colourful reef tanks, rays and an underwater tunnel. It is an entertaining and informative visit, with lots of interesting facts and curiosities to discover along the way. It is especially enjoyable for families with children. A very pleasant experience and well worth a visit if you are in the Lake District.

We visited the lakes aquarium on a Wednesday afternoon in term time with our 4 year old and had a fantastic time. Plenty of parking, not cheap but right outside the train station & aquarium. We pre booked tickets the day before as it was cheaper. No queue yet on reception. We visited at about 13:00 and it was quiet. Excellent use of space, exhibition areas were clean and tidy. All the fish and animals looked well cared for and they have made excellent use of all the soace. It's not a huge place, but we spent just over an hour here. For £21.99 as a family of 3 we felt this was excellent value for money. Just be aware the toilet facilities are on the train station platform. There are no toilets in the venue. We would highly recommend this as a rainy day activity!

I think the ticket price is appropriate for the size of the aquarium. The display information is excellent, and there's a good variety of animals. There are also a few interactive things for children (and adults)to enjoy, including a walkthrough tunnel. The one disappointnent was the otter feeding time. The staff member just fed them, and then stood there and said we could ask questions if we wanted. They provided no other information, which was highly disappointing, and is easily the worst feeding time I've ever seen in a zoo or aquarium.

A relatively small aquarium but it is well priced, especially if u buy the tickets the day before online 🔥 we spent about an hour wandering around all the exhibits which include adorable otters (catch the otter talk for interesting insights into their lives), a fish tunnel to walk through, and lots of fish, reptile, amphibian, and insect exhibits. Well worth a visit! We also had lunch at the cafe at the train station just outside, delicious sandwiches and toasties and Starbucks, and a great view of the lake!
