What visitors say

Very interesting place in beautiful settings a reasonable museum not overly stocked but some very interesting history around the dissolution of the abbey by Henry the 8th. Friendly staff and beautiful gardens the green house was very nice filled with all types of plants and trees would recommend a visit

Absolute hidden gem! Was super surprised by the amount of stuff there, very well cared for and displayed. Staff were the best bit; very knowledgeable and gave us umbrellas to look around outside as it was tipping it down! There was only 1 other person looking round, so was very quiet and could proper take our time with all the rooms and stunning objects. The considerable world war section kept my boyfriend and father very busy, and the medieval section had some really cool things - I would recommend for families with kids, lots of interactive videos and displays. Real nice daytrip if you're looking for a spot of history 😊 And gardens would look gorgeous in the sunshine!

Strangely Brown

Worth getting a years membership just for use of the gardens alone! Imagine a land where you can sit on the grass without the paranoia of having your picnic in a dog's toilet. Paradise in the bay.
