Belgrave Sands Apartment

Photo: Belgrave Sands Hotel & Spa

Belgrave Sands Apartment is a ground-floor one-bedroom property a few minutes' walk from Torquay beach and the harbour. The open-plan living space combines bedroom and sitting area on the ground floor, with the kitchen and shower room on the first floor. A zip-and-link bed can be arranged as singles if needed. The apartment comes with wifi, heating and all linen and towels; essentials are covered.

What sets this place apart is access to the hotel's leisure facilities: an indoor heated swimming pool (7.3m by 4.6m, open 08:00 to 20:00), sauna and gym. There's a small enclosed courtyard with seating, and parking for one car. The kitchen has a full cooker, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly or travel light. A cot is available if you're bringing a young child. No smoking indoors.

Torquay seafront sits moments away, with Torre Abbey Park nearby for quieter exploration. The location suits couples or small families wanting beach time without hotel formality, though the shared pool and gym mean you're part of a wider hotel operation rather than entirely private.

Its not the cheapest hotel in Torquay , but it boasts it own indoor pool , steam room ,sauna and other skin treatments. Not forgetting the gym. The food is spot on and full english is included. Worth the money .

Took my Mum yesterday Saturday 15th March for lunch as a treat before the ballet. We have always been regular customers in the past as we have so enjoyed our lunches. Yesterday sadly was very disappointing. I ordered a Prawn and avocado sandwich on granary bread. When it arrived it looked unappetising. The bread wasn't granary it was tasteless and worst of all the avocado was brown mush and looked very unappealing. Certainly not the vibrant green it should be. I sent it back and ordered the salmon sandwich like my Mum, which we both did not enjoy. Attention to detail should always be top priority when serving food to a paying customer. Serving brown mushed avocado is not acceptable especially for the price of the sandwich. Our experience yesterday was sadly our last and we shall not be returning again for any lunches.

40 minutes just to get tea and coffee in the morning with one biscuit each, lunch was rushed due to spa treatments not planned properly and me having to go out and organise pre ordering lunch as service takes so long. Some very grumpy men behind the bar. The maintenance guy was lovely. Would not recommend a spa day here. Not quiet when having treatments, no loungers to relax on as there is no space for them. No jacuzzi very basic.
