About Old Mill Cottages

Fond of camping trips where it's just you, your tent and a location worth bragging about? Old Mill Cottages delivers a proper away-from-it-all Devon experience in a large, open field under 10 minutes' drive from the beach. Several beaches, in fact: Combe Martin's sheltered bay for swimming and rockpooling, Woolacombe's three miles of gold sand for families and bodyboarders, or Croyde's waves for surfers, all within easy reach.

Right on the edge of Exmoor National Park, you're perfectly placed for hiking and cycling to highlights like the Valley of Rocks and Lynton and Lynmouth. Back at camp, generously sized grass pitches offer ample room for tent, car and kids to run around. Facilities are deliberately back-to-basics—just portable toilets—but the trade-off is space, a friendly atmosphere and stunning nighttime starry skies. It's simple camping done right, though those wanting more creature comforts might find it too pared-back.

A nice place and setting but no signal at all, the sliding shower door leaks and there is a pool of water after use. The bedroom radiator did not work although a smart dial is installed. I also left a brand new pair of tracksuit gym shorts on the bed after checkout by accident. Yes my own fault but after calling every week since then they have not turned up so the most likely conclusion is the cleaners kept them.

Was here for a weekends big birthday celebrations. We were in the 5 bedroomed barn which was spacious, modern and clean with sufficient bathroom and toilets. Lack of tea towels so make sure you bring your own. Dishwasher packed up during the weekend. Would highly recommend this establishment.

Stayed in Mill Cottage for four nights from 23rd May 22. Firstly i must say it was very spacious and comfortable also well equipped for self catering. Bed was comfortable and decor in keeping with the cottage. Very nice courtyard with just four cottages and very quite which is always a bonus. Surrounding area is quaint and easy to walk the dog round. I gave four stars as i believe the cleaning needs to be better. There are cobwebs on the wooden rafters, and there are tea stains down the front of one of the kitchen cupboards, also the oven needs a deep clean especially as it is self catering. However our stay was lovely and comfortable but wish the weather had been on our side but you can't have everything. Would definately stay again.

Myself and the rest of the family had a lovely stay at the Old Mill cottages. We stayed in the Rose & Daisy which were both spacious, cosy and very comfortable. I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a home away from home in the Devon area
