The Empire Hotel & Spa sits on Church Walks at the foot of the Great Orme, a short walk from the pier and promenade, and has been run by the same family for around 80 years, now into its third generation of ownership. The building keeps a boutique, independently run feel rather than the chain-hotel formality of some of its promenade neighbours, with individually decorated rooms across the main hotel and an adjoining townhouse annexe.
A rooftop swimming pool and separate indoor pool, along with a spa offering a full treatment menu, set it apart from most other hotels in the town at this level, and both are available to overnight guests as part of the room rate. The hotel's restaurant and lounge areas lean into the family-run character of the place, with a more personal service style than the scale of the building might suggest.
Its position on Church Walks rather than directly on the seafront means a short walk to the beach and pier, but easy access up onto the Great Orme itself, making it a sensible base for anyone planning to combine a seaside stay with walking the headland.

This is the finest place to stay in Llandudno and possibly the North Wales coast. The rooms are luxurious in a vintage style and the food is excellent. Opt for the 4 course evening meal and you won't regret it. There is a fabulous pianist entertaining in the bar after dinner.

Another lovely weekend spent at The Empire. A gentle walk to the pier, promenade or the shopping centre. Really friendly welcoming staff. We had a lovely spacious room with comfy beds and quality bedding. Oh, and then there's the food. Waiter service in a super dining room. Now to look at when we can go again!

We enjoy our dinner last night, we have a delicious and tasty meal. The staff are very friendly especially the owner of the hotel Mrs Waddy. I highly recommend of going there and we are planning of going back there again soon.

A beautiful building. Sadly food suggested there was a shortage of food and no quality. Sausages not brill, tea bags awful. Baked beans small and lots of sauce. Clearly a cook in the kitchen who didnt do basic principles. Cold toast and eggs like rubber. Hash browns hard and nasty. Some plates hot some cold. No consistency. Staff didnt understand English well. No acknowledgement of food allergies. The steam room was cold and smelt musty which is a health worry. The sauna cold as was the heated pool. Outdoor pool used by gulls for swimming and drinking from! Towels ripped in the bathroom as theead bare.
