Camp Bongo

Great location. Campsite has a festival vibe. Close to beaches. Park anywhere on the field. Paint and sip was brilliant and good value for money. Cocktail making was expensive for what it was but we still had fun. More staff needed on the bar, pizza, chippy and morning coffee vans. Queues were ridiculous as was wait time for food once ordered! Toilets were an experience. I'd recommend that the lady cleaning the toilets wears gloves and an apron as it put me off when I saw her carrying ingredients to the food vendors knowing what she had been doing earlier. However overall we had a good 1 night stay and the people watching was great fun. I highly recommend paint and sip.

Camp Bongo has some real highlights but also areas that could be improved. Positives: • The location is stunning, with the beach just a short walk away – perfect for a relaxing break. • The live music in the evenings was excellent and created a great atmosphere. Areas for improvement: • Compost toilets – I completely understand the need for them given the site’s set-up, but they could be maintained more frequently. They were fine at first, but by the last day they had become very unpleasant. Adding more units and ensuring sanitary bins are available would also make a big difference, especially for female guests. • Facilities – only two sinks for washing up, which felt not enough and they were also very dirty. Handwashing basins would also be a really simple but welcome addition. • Barn/bar – Not being able to bring your own drinks is understandable, but with long queues at the bar it did take away from the experience a little. - Vendors - there was a selection of vendors but only one of them offered a vegan option and thus vendor was only onsite one night. Catering for everyone should be a must. With a few practical changes, this could be an amazing place to stay – the setting and music are already brilliant, it just needs more attention to the basics.

We absolutely loved stay at camp bongo! The location is so close to the beach and is a mile away from a local shop. The live music was brilliant! The toilet facilities were okay (composting toilet) however as the night went on the toilets became very dirty, would have been better if there were designated male and female ones. The showers are cold water but this was rather refreshing. Quiet zones are between 11.30 and 7, this was enforced by friendly security. However for some reason there was loud music that started at 4am and went on for atleast 45 minutes. Overall, a very positive experience and a very nice location. Thank you!

Great first experience at Camp Bongo! Friendly staff on check in. Clear rules, which are enforced! Toilets that are cleaned regularly! No fire rules in place the weekend of our trip. We had the chippy van both nights! Delicious food but on average, an 45 min wait. Walking distance to the beach and a short drive from the nearest shop. Looking forward to returning bank holiday weekend!
