What visitors say

What a magical place! I stayed in Onnen for a few nights on a solo trip to have some time off-grid and enjoy some hiking in the local area. Everything is thoughtfully designed and you can tell that Adam and Lou have put a lot of care into the site. The cabin itself is cosy and comfortable, and the communal space has everything you could need! The meadows are full of orchids, and the sound of the birdsong is just wonderful! Thank you so much, can’t recommend enough, I hope to visit again!

An absolute gem of a place. The cabins and furniture have been so well considered and hand crafted. Loved exploring the local area and also loved it when it rained - we decided to just have a cosy day in the cabin and had a blissful time. Cabin has everything you need and woodstove kept it very warm. Very special communal area, beautifully designed and built, great for cooking and chilling in. Had a lovely, lovely time and can't recommend enough.

Adam was so accommodating and picked us up from the train station which was very kind and appreciated by us. The cabin was fantastic - really cosy with plenty of fire wood! The shared kitchen area was beautifully decorated and really lovely to hang out in. Loved the composting loos and (hot!) showers. Friendly cats and fab walk to the local pub. This was one of the best places we have ever stayed in the UK.

We absolutely loved our stay in the barn. It was a perfect get away from our usual busy schedules. The barn has everything you need, with lots of homely and cosy touches. The garden is so tranquil too. We enjoyed some beautiful local walks and a visit to the RSPB reserve. The icing on the cake was spending a bit of time with our lovely hosts, and friends; Lou, Adam and their beautiful family and seeing all they have accomplished here. The sustainability of the whole set up is really impressive. It had been far too long since we had seen you. We will definitely not leave it so long the next time. We would love to come back again and look forward to more adventures and exploration. Thank you so much. Kate, Andrew, Molly and Alastair
