About Abbey Court Hotel

A row of townhouse buildings on Sussex Gardens has been brought together to form Abbey Court Hotel, giving it 71 rooms across a property with plenty of period character on the outside and a straightforward, modern setup within. It's a practical base in Greater London, with 24 hour reception and a lift making arrivals and daily comings and goings easy.

Rooms are simply furnished and each comes with a flat-screen TV and en-suite bathroom, geared towards comfortable rather than lavish stays. A breakfast buffet is served on site, and there's also a restaurant and bar at the property for guests who'd rather not venture out in the evening. Beyond the hotel itself, further pubs, bars and restaurants can be found nearby, along with other entertainment options.

The location is well suited to those travelling through London, with Paddington station within reach for onward journeys, and Chessington World of Adventures noted as a point of interest further afield. It suits guests after a no-fuss stay rather than a grand one.

This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. After a long journey, we checked in hoping to rest, but we couldn’t stay for more than 2 hours. The room was so uncomfortable that we packed our luggage again, checked out, and had to search for another hotel the very same day. The room was extremely dirty, poorly maintained, and unbelievably small. There was no air conditioning, even though the weather was very hot. The water pressure was so weak that taking a proper shower was almost impossible. To be completely honest, you would have to be an extremely untidy person to find these conditions acceptable. The level of cleanliness and comfort was far below any reasonable standard. For a hotel in the heart of one of the world’s greatest cities, I was shocked by the complete lack of basic hospitality and civilized standards. There was no attention to guest comfort, hygiene, or even the most basic necessities. The photos and online description are very misleading compared to the reality. Because of this experience, we wasted valuable time, had to repack all of our luggage, and pay extra to book another hotel at the last minute. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Save your money, save your time, and book somewhere else.

Excellent location, 5 min walking distance from Paddington. The staff members are very friendly, especially those who I've interact, the Brazilian guy Cauan and the Spanish and Italian ones. The breakfast is great for the price and has the essentials for starting your morning. Wifi is not great, but if you have your own mobile data plan this is not an issue. There is no AC but expected in the price range/location. Overall great option!

Went here as was close to Hyde park for a concert. Room was ok, basic and as other reviews said, very small shower, toilet squeezed in between shower cubicle and wall, anyone who is a little larger would definitely have a problem using both. Bedding was scratchy but cheaper price so wasn’t expecting 1000 tc bedding. Staff ok My worst problem was the 2 cockroaches behind the door as we approached the dining room for breakfast!! 🤮🤮 Luckily before we had eaten I quietly explained to the lady staff member in the room She did not bat an eye, just went to fetch a dust pan and brush, no “oh my goodness, I’m so sorry” or shock on her face at all so I’m thinking this couldn’t have been the first one she had seen or been told about. I told the man on the reception desk about it, his only response was “ oh it has been hot outside “ I did say as I was cross by his remark “ well my house is hot but my don’t have filthy cockroaches in it” I was a bit flippant as no one had the slightest concern or thought to apologise Obviously we gave them back their breakfast voucher No offer of a percentage refund or apology I try to stay positive as I know things happen but this was disgusting and the way it was handled was unacceptable

Stopped here 1 night as going to gig in Wembley. Good location for a Wembley event. Hotel is very basic, room was like a small box and window wouldn't stay open at night for air, quite claustrophobic, shower leaked so when in use was spraying all over the bathroom aswell, breakfast continental, very poor, toaster that doesn't toast, flat white coffee without the white part, messy...advise to stay room only and eat elsewhere. All in not value for money and probably would not visit again. The stars are simply location.
