About Axiom Park Hotel

Battersea Park is within easy reach of Axiom Park Hotel, making it a straightforward base for a stroll through the gardens or along the river, while a scattering of pubs, restaurants and bars nearby means evenings don't require much planning. Transport links from this stretch of Battersea Park Road make it simple to reach the rest of London.

The hotel has 34 rooms, many with kitchenettes and space to spread out, plus en-suite bathrooms, drinks in the room and family and accessible options. There's a lift, free WiFi, a garden and luggage storage, and breakfast is available on site. Air conditioning is fitted throughout, though it doesn't always run reliably, and some rooms show signs of wear rather than being kept in top condition.

Staff are consistently helpful, which counts for a lot when a room needs sorting or directions are wanted for the park or nearby restaurants. It suits guests after a straightforward, well-placed London stay rather than a polished, high-spec one.

Me and my family stayed in this hotel overnight for a business trip. I'd booked it as I needed a place to stay close to the battersea power station and this seemed like the best option. Upon arrival the staff seemed nice and friendly but upon entering the room we did notice some things were not up to standard or stated upon booking. This was during 30 degree weather and the air con was broken and the room was hot and stuffy. We were told the upstairs rooms don't have aircon which I thought was strange since it stated there was aircon and carpetted rooms etc. I'd booked a family room which was a decent size with a nice view and windows which opened the room up nicely. However they don't close all the way which I thought was a bit weird but not overly bothersome. The drains smelled awful but we are technically close to the Thames so I did expect some sort of smell or not very nice water systems etc. I definitely think the room could do with a bit of revamp, especially as all the walls are stained either with crayon (probably from kids which happens) and the bathroom wall looked like the door had been knocked into it creating a hole which theyd noticeably patched up and not repainted. We also found a spider in our pillow when we fluffed it up so im assuming they may have cleaned the pillows, dressed them and then shoved them in the wardrobe and not rewashed them since. There was also a lot of dust under the beds which we only noticed as we'd moved them so Im assuming they just cleaned what they thought would be seen My suggestion would be to repaint, deep clean and change the curtains to a more full design to ensure privacy as there are what appear to be apartments or offices next to the hotel so you would be able to see in. Overall was good enough for a night but I probably wouldn't stay there again unless I had to find somewhere quickly, especially in the summer if the AC doesn't work. The teams really good at getting back to you though with concerns but there's only so much staff have control over. I would say theres only one or 2 members of staff that are a little bit rude but only in the way of turning their nose up at people and ignoring them. The man who greeted us at the front desk seemed lovely though

The only good thing was the location. However, within an hour of check in, and walking around the room barefoot, the bottom of my feet were black. Despite hanging the "please service my room" tag, floors were never even vacuumed, let alone cleaned. Terrible beds and bedding. Room for 3 with 1 fork (took 2 trips to the front desk to get 2 more). Kitchennet with pans, but no tools. Front door standing wide open at midnight with no one at the desk. Basically zero soundproofing. Have I made my point yet? Even as a budget option, still not worth it. Keep your expectations low, and you'll love it.

I stayed at the Axiom Park Hotel last weekend while attending the Mighty Hoopla festival after being let down by Booking.com. We booked the hotel very last minute without doing much research into the area or reading many reviews beforehand. After booking, I started looking through the reviews and was honestly a little worried. The reception area looked lovely in the photos and the hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but some reviews described it as the “worst hotel ever,” which had me dreading the weekend before I’d even arrived. Thankfully, when we got there, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel definitely has a few issues, which I’ll come to shortly, but it certainly isn’t the disaster some reviews make it out to be. We stayed in Room 306 on the third floor. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was huge, with both a bath and a separate shower. We also had a window and a small kitchen area complete with utensils, which was a nice bonus. The main downside was the air conditioning. It made noise but didn’t seem to cool the room at all. Fortunately, I had brought a fan with me after reading previous reviews mentioning this issue. I also spoke to another guest in the lift who said the air conditioning in his room wasn’t working either. The room décor wasn’t really to my taste. The dark green walls made the room feel quite dark, and I think lighter colours such as white or warm neutral tones would make a big difference. Our friends were staying on the first floor in a room beginning with “G”, and their room was noticeably nicer. Their air conditioning worked perfectly, they had a sofa, and the walls were painted white, making the room feel much brighter and more modern. The location was good, with plenty of buses, shops and pubs just outside on the main road. The reception area is lovely and includes a bar, although it seemed to have very little stock, which felt a bit odd. Thankfully, there are plenty of local shops nearby. The receptionist we dealt with was friendly and helpful enough throughout our stay. Overall, while the hotel has some shortcomings, particularly with the air conditioning, it was far better than many of the reviews had led me to expect. I would stay here again for a short London trip or festival weekend.

Hotel was booked in as home address and not name so reception spent 20 minutes trying to find our booking... Booking confirmation number couldn't be found on their system either. Could not get into the booked room on arrival as the key card would not work. Given a second room. Air-con not working. Staff said they knew about the problem? Tea and coffee available in the room but no kettle available. Tried to heat coffee in microwave but that didn't work. No cover on ironing board... No iron available so couldn't even iron my shirt for my meeting. Kitchenette cupboard on the wonk which wasn't the end of the world but looked pretty shoddy. Toilet seat also on the wonk. Standard check out at 11am is good and they do offer to look after your bag for the day. Pretty basic overall. Brazillian bar across the road plays loud music so advice is book a room at the rear of the hotel.
