About Balmoral House Hotel
Sussex Gardens is a long terrace of white-fronted townhouses in Paddington, and Balmoral House Hotel occupies one stretch of it, close to London Paddington station and the pubs, restaurants and other eateries that fill the surrounding streets. It's a practical base for anyone arriving by train or heading out to explore the city, with 24 hour reception on hand whenever you come and go.
The hotel has 18 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and breakfast is included to set you up before a day out. Luggage storage is useful for early arrivals or late departures, and the location means entertainment and dining options are all within easy reach on foot.
Rooms here are on the small side, which is worth bearing in mind if space matters to you, though they're kept clean and the staff have a reputation for being helpful and friendly. It's generally considered good value for the location, even if some find the pricing steep for what you get. For a straightforward stay near Paddington, without frills, it does the job.

Great value hotel within 10 minutes walk from the platforms at Paddington or Hyde Park. I booked less than two months in advance via Booking.com and got a room for one night for about £75 inc. breakfast. My room happened to be in the property across the street (owned by the hotel). It was bigger than expected with a double bed (not sure if I got lucky as I was expecting a single). Although the room was looking a bit old and tired I had a good experience: clean sheets, comfortable enough bed, I could open the window for fresh air and change the radiator temperature, so I had a good, quiet night's sleep. There was a kettle with some tea and coffee and a small TV too. Private bathroom (shower & WC) was small but clean and perfectly functional. There's no lift in either building so bear that in mind if you have lots of luggage, but again I was lucky with my room being on the first floor. The breakfast was basic but good and tasty, with cereals available, toast refills and fruit. Friendly, helpful staff both at breakfast and reception too. In summary, given how expensive accomodation in London can be this was really good value, especially for one night. I would definitely stay again if I was transiting through Paddington.

I stayed at Balmoral House Hotel during my trip to London with my daughter. The cleanliness was overall in line with typical UK standards and generally acceptable. The location of the hotel is excellent, very convenient for getting around the city and visiting the main attractions. The assistance service was good and the reception staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast was decent, but it could definitely be improved with a bit more variety. Also, the breakfast staff could be more welcoming — an extra smile would certainly make the experience nicer. The only real downside is the rooms, which are extremely small and can feel quite cramped, especially if you have luggage. Overall, it’s a good option mainly because of the excellent location, although there are a few aspects that could be improved.

Mark was such a nice receptionist! Very kind and respectful, the staff as well, If you're a tourist, it's really worth it! The location is close to Paddignton station, with restaurants and markets around, everything a tourist needs!
