About Numa London Bloomsbury
Numa London Bloomsbury occupies a townhouse-style building on Bayley Street, just off Bedford Square, with 86 rooms spread across a property that blends period London architecture with a more contemporary interior. It's the kind of setting that suits guests who want a central base without the scale of a large chain hotel.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and drinks available in-room, and self-check-in makes arrival straightforward for those coming in at odd hours. Breakfast is available on site, and there's a lift for guests who'd rather skip the stairs, along with luggage storage and outdoor seating for relaxing outside a room. That said, upkeep in some rooms has been inconsistent, and service can be slow to respond when issues come up, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly.
The location is the strongest card here: the British Museum and Covent Garden are both within easy reach, and the surrounding streets offer plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. There's no parking on site, so it suits guests arriving by public transport or on foot rather than by car.

We had a lovely stay overall. Before booking, we called the hotel specifically to confirm that we would be able to check in early because we were arriving in London early in the morning. We were told over the phone that early check-in would be available. However, when we arrived at 10:00 a.m., we weren’t able to check into our room until 1:00 p.m., which left us stranded outside with our suitcases after a long flight. That was disappointing and could have been communicated more clearly. That said, Rose, who works at the hotel, was incredibly kind, helpful, and did everything she could to accommodate us and see if our room could be made available sooner. Her excellent customer service really made a difference. Once we got into our room, it was amazing—clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were hoping for. Despite the frustrating start, we had a wonderful stay overall. Thank you to Rose for going above and beyond!

Lovely stay. Fitzrovia is one of my favourite areas, so the location is a solid 10/10. Just below the property is Gail’s Bakery, where guests receive a small discount, it’s great and almost feels like having hotel-style breakfast right downstairs. The rooms are nice; mine was on the smaller side, but perfectly adequate. The only downside for me was the carpet. I’d love to see it replaced with wooden flooring in the future. The self check-in process works very well and fits the concept perfectly. There’s also staff available in case of emergencies, which is reassuring, but first point of contact you always have to go through whatsapp chat. My room was quiet, as it faced the backyard, which I really appreciated. The air con and heating both worked perfectly. You can easily pick up extra essentials like toilet roll from downstairs, and they’re generous with supplies, no need to bring shampoo, lotion, or similar items. Also, you can use their app to open the doors, which I didn't realise until the last day. I would definitely return.

Do not risk your safety here. This place is a security disaster masquerading as a "4-star tech hotel." It is completely unstaffed and operates with a reckless security setup that puts guests in direct danger. The Code Nightmare: They give you one single 5-digit PIN code. They use this exact same code for the public street door, the elevator, and your private bedroom. Anyone standing on the street or riding the elevator can look over your shoulder, memorize your code, and walk right into your room. Zero Inside Locks: There are NO manual deadbolts, chains, or thumb-turn locks inside the room. Once you are inside, you cannot lock the door physically. Anyone with the digital code can open your door at any time. Because of this setup, a staff member walked straight into my room completely unannounced without knocking, claiming he was "fixing something." As a solo traveler, having a stranger walk into your room with zero physical way to lock them out is unacceptable and terrifying. Fake 4-Star Status: A real 4-star hotel in the UK requires 24/7 on-site staff and a reception desk. This place has zero staff on-site. They are scamming people by charging luxury prices for a budget, unstaffed motel operation. Greenwashed Scam: They do not provide standard room cleaning. They force you to pay an extra fee for basic housekeeping, claiming it is for "sustainability" just to pocket the extra cash.

I stayed 4 nights. I'd give it 2.5 stars but not 3. I firstly hadn't realised that this hotel is a little different from standard hotels in that they don't have front of house staff, only housekeeping are visible during the times they are cleaning rooms. Based on the published cost on their website and the fact they are saving money on headcount (staffing) I felt the cost wasn't worth it. I'd prefer to be in a hotel with a customer service/experience being visible and approachable. Entrance to the hotel is via a pin code keypad, the pin code is sent to you in advance after you have pre-registered for digital check-in. The keypad was temperamental and I needed to give it a few times to work. Once you enter the hotel you proceed to the lift, once inside you key in your pin, and select floor. The elevator is poorly maintained and was out of service for a time. Between the door closing, using the keypad and selecting your floor you just need to be ready for the task as if you don't time it right you could be caught in the lift with someone on another floor calling it to come down and you risk going for a ride with other guests. Once you reach your floor, you locate your room and again there is a keypad and you get into your room. I discovered that the internal door handle for my room was not fixed to the door mechanism correctly and kept coming away (off) the door. To seek assistance when at the hotel you are provided a WhatsApp number to initially talk to a chatbot or there is an emergency number for a central contact centre in Europe. It can take up to 10 minutes to get through to someone remotely. TV was only suitable for you to sign into your own account for the popular apps like Netflix, Amazon, BBC etc. on my TV I had previous customer accounts, as the house keepers don't reset the TVs as they should. There was no free-to-air TV service available in the room. Make sure you have have your own content to access. Room was clean, the standard double was cosy work limited space, soft and alcohol drinks are provided. The iron and board is on the ground floor in a cupboard as long as no one else is using them. The hotel is not suitable for anyone with a disability, from the front door, to the slim doors, cramped space and keypad heights, dodgy lift; it's not very "accessible" which was disappointing to see. Sleeping - I was comfortable, the bed and pillows were good. Security... Well anyone can get in with a code and if you have an issue there is no one about unless you get through to the remote contact centre. There is no phone in the room, so you need your mobile. The location of the hotel is great. British Museum, Oxford Street and theatre district is all very close. Look, I had issues from the keypad not working with my pin in the lift, to the door handle to my room not being fixed and coming off to the TV just being a second screen for your mobile and the feeling that there is no staff in the hotel just made me feel like the £250 nightly cost was inappropriate. I would say that Hub by Premier Inn or Zedwell are more aligned to the price point they show and what you get, is actually what you pay for. I've got two rooms booked for June, but I'm considering cancelling them.
