About Regency House

Bloomsbury's museums, bookshops and transport links are all within reach of Regency House, a 16-room hotel on Gower Street. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries sit close by, making it easy to head out for the evening without much planning, while major London transport connections keep the rest of the city within easy reach.

Rooms come with practical extras such as a microwave and fridge, along with drinks in room, air conditioning and free WiFi, and staff are noted for being attentive and helpful. Some rooms are on the smaller side and a little dated in style, though housekeeping standards are consistently good. Breakfast offers a wide selection of choices and is a genuine highlight for many staying here.

The hotel also has a lift, a garden, luggage storage and concierge services, plus free on-site parking - a useful bonus in central London. It suits visitors who want a straightforward base for exploring Bloomsbury and beyond, rather than a destination in itself.

Stayed at Regency for 3 nights. Location was perfect. Very close to plenty of restaurants and cafes and coffee. The Goodge train station is very close, which will take you to all the tourist areas in a couple of stops. The room was clean and cosy. Bed comfortable and pillows great. Bathroom was small but very manageable. There was air conditioning (it seemed to cut out after a while but wasn’t an issue). Breakfast was down in the basement - first in first served. Scan the QR code and get an efficient hot breakfast. It worked perfectly for us. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs. And the doors banged quite loudly but it wasn’t an issue. There is a lovely garden out the back as well. The only challenging part is the room is quite small, but if you are fine with that then this accommodation is super charming and cute.

**4/5 - Comfortable Stay in a Great Location** I recently stayed at the Regency House Hotel on Gower Street for a single night after attending a gig in London. Overall, I found it to be a comfortable and convenient place to stay, particularly if you're looking for somewhere within easy walking distance of central London venues and attractions. The hotel is fairly basic, but it delivers the essentials well. My single room was very small, though it was thoughtfully fitted out and made good use of the available space. Everything I needed for an overnight stay was there, and the room was clean and comfortable. That said, both the bedroom and bathroom felt quite cramped for someone of my height and build. At 6ft 1in, I found manoeuvring around the room a bit of a challenge, and the shower in particular was awkward enough that I had to squat slightly to wash my hair comfortably. Guests of a similar stature may want to bear this in mind when booking. One area where the hotel performed particularly well was breakfast. There was a very good range of choices available, and the ordering app was straightforward, reliable and easy to use. It made the whole process quick and convenient, which was appreciated before heading home. Overall, Regency House Hotel provided exactly what I needed: a clean, comfortable and well-located place to stay for a night in London. While the smallest rooms may not suit taller or larger guests, I would happily stay again. My advice would simply be to consider one of the larger room options if available, as that would likely make the experience even better.

Made my booking and later discovered our room was on the second floor but no lift ( a problem as we both have disabilities ) Even though it was beyond the cut-off time for free cancelation they very kindly offered to still cancel for free. In a land of cooperate greed it was so nice to see such kindness and consideration from Regency House Hotel I think this personal touch is because you can actually speak to a real person rather than the impersonal online option you get from nearly all other hotels. Never change. Real people make all the difference.

We were originally staying in an airb&b but ended up switching to the regency because it has AC. The AC worked so well during the heat wave! We slept great and came back during the day for a nice break from the heat. The hotel is very cute and charming and we had no issues with our room. The breakfast was also delicious and such a nice bonus. They allowed us to leave our luggage after check in as well. Would definitely stay here again!
