About The London EDITION

For those who want a London base that doubles as a night out, The London EDITION on Berners Street suits travellers after style, service and a central address rather than a quiet retreat. It works well for couples on a city break, business visitors who need meeting space, or anyone keen to explore Fitzrovia, Soho and Oxford Street on foot.

The hotel's 173 rooms come with air conditioning, mini bars, en-suite bathrooms and city views, with family and accessible rooms available and porters and concierge on hand for anything else. Berners Tavern serves as the main restaurant, alongside a lively lobby bar known for its cocktails, and breakfast is a genuine highlight. Guests also get use of an on-site gym, business and meeting facilities, room service, laundry, and valet parking, with EV charging and chargeable parking nearby.

Service throughout is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere leans sophisticated rather than stuffy, making it as suited to a work trip as a weekend away. Beyond the doors, Soho's restaurants and bars, Oxford Street's shops and Fitzrovia's own quieter corners are all within easy reach.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the threshold of this beautifully-architected and decorated gem, we forgot our weariness and troubles from our train ride from Edinburgh. The bartender in the lounge served us drinks and noshes and was so attentive and friendly we almost missed the call that our room was ready. The room was immaculate with all the amenities we needed to refresh ourselves from the road. A welcome gift of jelly in a punch glass aperitif was delivered by Bobby to invite us to sample their signature milk punches in liquid form the intimate Punch Room. What really stood out for us is that when Bobby delivered our welcome gift and found out we lived in Seattle she declared her love for Grunge music. We laughed and agreed. The next day she thoughtfully waited 15 mins after delivering our wonderful club sandwiches to deliver the ice cream so it wouldn't melt. I thought it would be fun to put on some Chris Cornell on the Bluetooth speaker that they conveniently place in the room. She loved it! Later that night after seeing Avenue Q (highly recommend, 12 min walk to the West End) we arrived back in our room to a silk-screened cover of Pearl Jam Ten on a cookie 🍪 So thoughtful and generous! Honestly I can't think of a time where I've felt so well received. This is the new gold standard for exceptional service.

Good Service and everything was clean. However, rooms are not that special to justify the price! Lobby and restaurant are very special from the architectural perspective. Breakfast was delicious and good service. Did it once, other Marriott offer the same experience for significantly less.

I can not say ENOUGH about The London Edition. I traveled to London, solo trip, first time visit...first time solo trip. I am a mother of 3 "twenty-somethings". Even though I have traveled and lived all over...never had I attempted a 9 day adventure on my own. The London Edition took care of me as if I was their Family. The hotel is gorgeous, the location PERFECT. Two choices of tube stations. Restaurants surrounding the hotel are ALL Amazing. However, it is the STAFF and the HOTEL itself that is truly wonderful. The Restaurant inside the Hotel, Berners, and Bars (there are 3) are AMAZING. Illias the Director of F&B, so sincere and thoughtful. The wait staff in the restaurant for breakfast...made my coffees each morning to perfection. Felix, just one of the Hotel Managers...very attentive. And Phoebee...the Day/Night Manager that "put the FEAR of the KING" into an unruly neighbor one night for me. The concierge team began a month out helping me "draft" my itinerary. All of them were Amazing: Valentine, Jay, Abraham and of course their LEADER...Mike. If I could have stayed a few more days...I would have. Of course now I have the London "bug"...and will defnitely be back bringing along my husband. Don't mess around looking for other places...better deals in London. Just take my word for...the London Edition is the PLACE you want to be.

I finally ticked The London EDITION off my list with a stay in November, and I’m still wondering why it took me so long. I’ve walked past this Berners Street beauty countless times, but stepping inside was a very pleasant surprise — this hotel seriously delivers. The first impression is instantly impressive. The lobby is vast, elegant and effortlessly stylish, and with a towering Christmas tree in place during my stay, it felt especially magical. The layout is intuitive: the bar to the left, the restaurant to the right, and reception straight ahead. It’s polished without being intimidating — very EDITION. I can’t recall the exact room category I booked (most likely a Deluxe King), but on arrival the room wasn’t quite ready. No problem at all — I left my suitcase with reception, headed out, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a text by 1:40pm letting me know the room was ready. Seamless and thoughtful service like this always scores highly with me. The lifts are located just beyond reception, past a corridor where you’ll spot a moody, speakeasy-style bar on the left — all deep tones, leather armchairs and intimate vibes — with the lift lobby opposite. It’s a lovely preview of the hotel’s layered personality. My room was bright, calm and beautifully designed, with light wood walls and floors giving it an airy, modern feel. One of my favourite touches was the welcome card — but the real standout was the Willy Wonka chocolate bar waiting on the desk. Unwrap it and you might find a golden ticket… which I did! Whether this is clever marketing or sheer luck remains to be seen, but the prize is access to a special bar experience that I won’t spoil here. Let’s just say: absolutely use it. Although I didn’t spend as much time in the room as I would’ve liked, it was extremely comfortable and quietly luxurious. Thoughtful details — from the artwork to the cosy faux-fur throw — made it feel warm and indulgent rather than overly formal. We enjoyed drinks in the lobby bar, where we were wonderfully looked after by Alkit, who added a real sense of fun and personality to the evening. There’s also a large open fire here, which is especially inviting on colder nights. We briefly checked out the speakeasy bar too — darker, moodier and ideal for intimate conversations — but for our group, the main bar had the better energy. I also took a peek into the restaurant but didn’t have time to dine there this visit. It looks stunning and refined, and it’s firmly on my list for next time. All in all, The London EDITION exceeded my expectations. Stylish, welcoming and full of personality, it’s exactly the kind of hotel I love — and I’ll definitely be back. If you enjoy five-star hotels as much as I do, check out my other reviews — I’m an independent travel agent with Inteletravel and always happy to share my favourites.
