Bishops Gate Hotel

Highly, highly recommend this gorgeous hotel in Derry. Stephanie and Clare at reception were extraordinary in their service. JP is the manager and couldn't be nicer. Lastly Patrick showed us around and gave a quick tour (ask to see the hidden water well up on the second floor). The rooms were super cozy, air conditioning was fantastic and breakfast so yummy. They went out of their way to add a Happy Birthday trest in our room for our daughter. First class!! Can't wait to come back!

The Bishops Gate Hotel has been our choice of accommodation for many years now for good reasons. The location is perfect for us (we come here as part of a motorcycle tour around Ireland) as it is close to the centre of Town but still has the peace and quiet atmosphere we like. Parking is easy and very close to the hotel in a gated and safe open air location. The rooms are very tasteful and super clean. Showers provide high pressure and very hot water. The breakfast is plentiful and one can order freshly made hot choices as well as perfectly prepared coffee to your liking. Staff has been super friendly and especially J.P. the general manager went out of his way to accommodate my group to give them a first class experience. Truly a ten out of ten experience and I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Thanks for everything and see you again next year.

We recently spent two nights at Bishop's Gate Hotel during our trip around Ireland, and it was a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Robyn at reception. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to share recommendations and a little of Derry's history, making us feel at home right away. A special thank you also to Kaisi, who quickly took care of our many heavy suitcases with a smile. We do not travel light. We stayed in a Deluxe Queen Room. While it was a little smaller than expected, it was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel itself was beautifully maintained. Our room overlooked Bishop Street however the window was too high and limited the view. The bathroom was spacious, although it could benefit from a few minor updates. We also enjoyed dinner in the hotel's restaurant, where both the food and service were excellent. What really makes Bishop's Gate Hotel stand out is its exceptional staff. Every member of the team was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring Derry's Walled City, with the city walls, Bogside, Peace Bridge, restaurants, and shops all within easy walking distance. I highly recommend the hotel for it's outstanding hospitality and fantastic location.

Great hotel within the walls of the city. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Rooms are well finished and very clean. Food at the restaurant is great (would advise booking ahead). I've stayed here three times now and each time has been great. Will continue to stay here any time we visit the city.
