About Maldron Hotel Derry

A large modern build of 93 rooms, Maldron Hotel Derry occupies a spot on Butcher Street within the historic city walls of Londonderry. The scale of the place means it comfortably combines a restaurant, bar, snack bar, gym and spa with sauna under one roof, alongside business services and a garden for guests wanting quieter moments.

Rooms are air-conditioned and finished to a clean, spacious standard, with drinks available in room and Wi-Fi included throughout. Breakfast is cooked fresh each morning and the bar food has built a strong reputation among visitors, making it easy to eat well without leaving the building. Porter and concierge services are on hand, and a lift serves all floors.

The city walls setting puts pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, and the hotel doubles as a wedding venue for those planning events locally. Free on-site parking is provided, though space can be limited at busier times, so early arrival is worth bearing in mind.

The room was spotless, clean, and tidy, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was fantastic, offering a great selection of fresh, tasty food to start the day. The location is absolutely spot on—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all that Derry has to offer on foot. The Maldron Hotel Derry enjoys an excellent central location within the historic city walls, making it easy to explore most of the city’s attractions on foot. It’s an ideal base for anyone wanting to experience Derry without needing to drive. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The hotel also has a lovely bar, and the restaurant serves good-quality food. I particularly enjoyed the chicken dish I ordered. Our room was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, with fantastic views over the city. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the pillows suited me perfectly, resulting in a great night’s sleep. While the bathroom was a little dated, it was a good size, and the shower had excellent water pressure. The room doesn’t have air conditioning or a mini fridge, but a fan is provided, which was appreciated. Breakfast was fairly simple, but everything was fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the Maldron Hotel Derry to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a superb location.

Lovely hotel in a great spot for anyone visiting the city. Right beside the walls so a great starting point for a walk. 10 minutes to Foyleside & millennium forum. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options and was all cooked well. We didn't have dinner here (there's lots of options in the area) but the bar itself was nice enough. There is a secure & private car park that has space for maybe 10 vehicles which is "first come, first served"
