Charlotte House

Contrary to the opinion of some other reviewers, the self check-in went seamlessly for me. I received the door codes well in advance of my arrival, and had no problem getting to my allocated room. My room itself (Room 14) was nicely furnished, not too big but also not cramped. The bed was very comfy and there was plenty of coffee. Since I believe that there were no other guests in the property during my stay, it had been very quiet for me, which was very pleasant. The property wasn’t too far from the town centre, and overall quite walkable. The only criticism I have is that the room was a bit too warm and very damp especially, which worsened the heat. It was a bit uncomfortable but also not unbearable. Also, the shower only had warm water which was particularly frustrating since the room had already been warm, and I wanted to cool down after coming back from a walk through town. Lastly, it could’ve been a bit cleaner. It wasn’t horribly dirty, but there were smudges on the bedding and visible cleaning streaks had been left on some surfaces. Staff were relatively responsive via the chat option, and, whilst efficient, not really welcoming and very abrupt. Overall, it was a solid stay.

🏠 Number 4 Apartment - Clean, Comfortable, and Well-Located 🌆 We stayed at Number 4 Apartment in Derry and had a really good experience overall. The room was clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with two single beds and a private bathroom, which made the stay very comfortable. The location is also great - about a 15-minute walk to the city centre and all the major attractions, so it’s easy to explore Derry on foot. The only minor downside was the touchpad entry system, which didn’t work properly for us at first and took several tries to open the door - a bit frustrating after a long day of travel. Other than that, everything was smooth and enjoyable. All in all, a solid and convenient place to stay in Derry with good value for money.

Unfair Charges and Poor Customer Service I wish I could give Charlotte House zero stars. When I left the hotel, everything seemed fine—but later, I received an email saying I was being charged £30 for smoking, with no proper explanation. I had already checked out, so how could they be sure? If there was an issue, they should have checked the room while I was still there. That’s their responsibility, not something to decide after a guest has left. The lack of communication was unacceptable. They didn’t inform me at checkout, didn’t give me a chance to respond, and just charged me without any discussion. This is not how a professional hotel should operate.(you can’t call it hotel though) I do not recommend staying here. If they can add charges after you check out, who knows what else they might do? Very disappointing experience.

This accomodation was perfect for me, is 5 minuts far from the North West Academy. Before arrive i send an email and instantly answer me with the Code. Its a bit tricky to recognize how works the number pad but you just have to read the indications well. All clean and in the 1 floor you have a fridge to cold your beer or coke. I will return for sure.
