About Waterfoot Hotel

Londonderry's outskirts are home to the Waterfoot Hotel, a short distance from the city centre and close to Ness Country Park for those wanting a walk or some green space. The setting makes it a practical base for exploring the area while staying somewhere quieter than the city itself.

The hotel has 44 rooms, generally described as spacious and clean with comfortable beds. There's a restaurant serving well-regarded food, including breakfast, plus a bar and the popular Snug Bar, known for its friendly and helpful staff, though service can be slow at busier times. Facilities extend to a gym, garden, lift access, air conditioning, free WiFi, and concierge and porter services, with the venue also used for weddings.

Free on-site parking is provided, useful given the roundabout location just outside the city. With restaurants, pubs and entertainment nearby, and Londonderry itself only a couple of miles away, the Waterfoot works well as a comfortable, good-value stop for visiting the area.

Just back from a short stay. Staff are the most pleasant and helpful in all areas. Nothing too much trouble. The menu is really good and the food is outstanding. Breakfast choices are excellent. Look forward to returning. Only fault was that there are no convenient charging spots in the room so had to unplug the fridge which we were not using anyway. I left my charging plug and cable behind which was my own fault

We dine here on a regular basis and have had many events here also over the last few years. I must say the waiting staff are exceptionally friendly & can’t do enough for you. The food is also excellent & we love coming here. This is our go to place for meals out and events. The restaurant is lovely and spacious & the snug bar is great for few drinks after. We are always well looked after by all the staff (especially by Daryl, Ravi & Martin).

First impressions walking into reception was it is a beautiful hotel & all the staff we met from reception to bar staff were so friendly & helpful. The food was lovely in the bar. However we could not rate the hotel as 4* due to the rooms. The rooms are dated & quite small, there is no fridge or air conditioning & the shower head was extremely low & stuck there. Just FYI no swimming pool in the hotel either.

We stayed one night on May 10 2026. We were impressed with the great dinner, but the initial service was quite slow. The rooms were very hot and the fan didn't work. A replacement fan was supplied but without a shroud, just an open fan blade. There was a wedding taking place and the music was very loud next to our room until 1am. After a long days drive there was very little sleep for us. It's potentially a nice place but maybe our timing was off this time. We booked several months in advance.
