What visitors say
What an absolute gem of a place! We've been to the country park many times but this was our 1st stay in the campsite. The toilets & showers are fantastic though I can imagine when the site is busy there may not be enough? Only suggestion may be to provide some idea of where the plots are in the non electric tent field. We'd booked H and had to sort of guess where we should be. Again no issue for us as it was mid week term time so no families. Beautiful setting and 5 mins walk to the lake or 10 mins to the fabulous beach!! £15 for a 2 man tent? Absolute bargain!!!

Nice campsite - just of the coastal path. The facilities were clean and tidy. There is a grocery store in Hadston open until late. Unfortunately there was nowhere for me to charge my phone and power bank so next time I will be better prepared. I will be happy to use this site again.

Love this campsite. Friendly and quiet. Immaculate showers and toilets and wardens are lovely The country park is ideal for dog walks, running, cycling etc and beach is just over the road

As one of the dearest sites we looked at, we chose it for its unique location, sandwiched between the water sports park beach and the bird sanctuary. Sadly, the facilities didn’t live up to the setting. With good pitches and lovely surroundings, the site is appealing. But… why invest in setting up a decent pitch site and not provide a properly thought-out toilet and shower block? There is a campsite wash-up and toilet block. The concept is good, with secure individual shower/loo cubicles, but it’s totally inappropriate for such a busy site. There are only two sinks in the wash-up area, which is nowhere near enough. Overall, the facilities need to be at least doubled in scale, with a smarter layout that separates dry and wet zones within each shower/loo cubicle to make them more efficient and practical. A proper janitorial rota would also go a long way toward keeping standards up. Lighting is another issue. The walkways are long and unlit, with no signage to show the correct paths. While we understand the need to protect the dark skies and local wildlife, some subtle guidance is needed—cat’s-eyes or reflective markings along the paths would make it much safer to navigate the zig-zag routes and well-trodden pathways to and from the facilities at night without disturbing the natural environment. As other reviews have noted, there also needs to be stricter enforcement of the quiet-site policy, with a clear 23:00 shutdown in place. With such a unique location and lovely surroundings, the site deserves far better stewardship. Never once did we see any pitches being litter-picked, which is very poor considering the arrival time was 14:00. With some design improvements, proper management, and attention to detail, this could be a truly standout site rather than a frustrating and mediocre one.

People say this campsite offers a stunning location with beach and countryside walks, clean showers and toilets, and a great playground for children.
Other reviews mention the toilet and shower facilities can be inadequate and a long walk from pitches.
