Although the site is kept clean and tidy, there is very little water pressure in the toilets. The lighting system in the toilets is motion activated and at times goes off whilst using them, unfortunately you HAVE to come out of or off the toilet to re activate the lights. I complained about this several times and said the lights needed to be on a SOUND activation system, but was ignored. They claim to be dog friendly, this is so far from the truth. They ALLOW dogs but they are definitely not dog friendly. When we went to view the site "seasonal touring pitch", we were told the dogs have to be walked off site, which was OK with us because the narrow single lane road appeared quiet, unfortunately it's not and the cars come extremely close as they are passing. We were told we could use dog pens on our little grassed area next to the awning, but have to be removed when we leave the van for grass cutting, yeah sure that's understandable. A few days after setting up, we were told the dog pens couldn't be on the grass at all and they had to be on the gravel. Unfortunately the gravel is totally unsuitable for our two little dogs so we asked about other ways of letting our girls be on the grass. What a shock we got when the manageress said "the dogs are not allowed on the grass, as their urine kills it". So we went from dog pens to keep off the grass, within a very short time. The main thing that kills their grass is the fact they cut it every Tuesday and Thursday without fail, leaving it with bear dirt patches. Would I recommend it? NOT if you have dogs. They claim it's a 5star site, which it is NOT. The static caravans are on a 5star site, but the seasonal pitches are NOT. To be a 5star rating the pitches have to be fully serviced (water and waste facilities for each individual caravan). The seasonal pitches do not have that. We paid £3000ish but because of the dog ban on the grass would of meant our little girls being kept in the awning. So rather than that we left, without any refund. We gave a signed letter to the manageress and sent an email to the owner. Neither replied. In fact according to other seasonal pitch owners we got accused of doing a "Moon light flit" . To those of you who don't know what a "Moon light flit" is, it's when you leave without telling anyone and owing money. 1) we were FULLY paid up and owed NOTHING!!!! 2) as stated earlier we gave them a letter 2 or 3 days earlier of our intentions of leaving and the reasons why. We are now on "SPRING LEA" near Shrewsbury. Which IS dog friendly, having a dedicated fenced dog walking area and EXCELLENT facilities including an on-site cafe, fishing pools and a paddle board pool. I suggest you check it out. Let's get facts right. Yes we did visit and yes we PAID £3000 approx. We were NOT told to keep dogs off the grass at all when we viewed. We were told not to leave pens on the grass when we left the pitch to go home. FACT: we were told dogs could not be on grass by new manageress . FACT: we did take a reading of the electric before we left. FACT: I handed our intentions of leaving to the manageress and told her the van would be gone by Saturday to her face.....so yes I did drive straight past, because as I already stated I told the manageress of my intention. FACT:wherever the management are getting their information from, I suggest the informants get their facts RIGHT. Don't you think we would of thought it to far before paying out thousands of pounds to stay there....Der .... As to the site being 5* : yes I know the static part has 5*'s BUT the touring part cannot be 5* for the fact it is NOT fully serviced. There is NO water or waste on the pitch. The water has to be collected from a shared tap and the waste has to be taken to the shared toilet block.

Absolutely lovely site, as this is my third visit I thought it was time to put a review. The site is in a stunningly quiet part of the country so if you want a swimming pool and clubhouse this site isn't for you. The site is immaculate and you are always greeted by the friendly staff who keep the whole site lovely. Looking forward to returning many more times

Booked in advance to visit here with a Motorhome. No service point or serviced pitches but there is power hook-up, fresh water and wastewater disposal etc. Plus a well kept shower block. Peaceful location. Good walking nearby, plenty of wildlife. Friendly site. Good terrestrial TV reception and I had uninterrupted 4G on the Three network. Nearest shop is about 1 mile from the site.
