About Forest and Wye Valley Camping

Tucked away near St Briavels in the Forest of Dean, this well-kept site strikes a lovely balance between peace and practicality. The facilities earn high praise—showers are spotless and reliably warm, while the 17 hardstanding pitches (with optional electric) suit tourers and motorhomes year-round. Owners are genuinely helpful, offering solid advice on walks and local routes through the Wye Valley, and the atmosphere stays relaxed and family-friendly without feeling overly managed.

Campfires are allowed, dogs are welcome, and WiFi keeps everyone connected. It's an honest, unpretentious base for exploring two of the region's most rewarding landscapes, though those seeking manicured glamping extras won't find them here—this is camping done well, not fancy.

Excellent! Beautiful location surrounded by forests. Abundance of birds. Very well maintained, very good facilties, very well organised. Barbeques, playground for kiddies, NOT teenager's. Close to amenities, plenty of ice creams and cold drinks. It really is one of the best I have been to in my travels around Europe. The showerrooms and toilets are thoroughly cleaned everyday and have high quality fittings. I just wish children using the bathrooms were better educated in hygiene.

Has to be 5 stars because there simply isn't anything to criticise. It a site of 48 or so mixed pitches, and this was our 3rd motorhome stay. Quiet site (a plus), neat and tidy, lovely clean shower and toilet facilities. In the middle of the countryside with little nearby, but we've cycled to St Briavels, Bream, and Coleford all of which are within a 3½mile or so radius. We stayed without electric this time because we had a newly fitted solar panel, so the £25/night with inclusive shower facilities was good value. We will be returning again when we need a bit of serious R&R

Stopped here in a trailer tent this weekend. Check in was simple and efficient, staff were really friendly. The campsite is tidy, quiet and well set up. All facilities were spot on. Its a short walk over the fields to St Briavels where there's a great pub and we went for a good walk straight from the site. Highly recommend!

Mid distance between the Wye Valley and Forest of Dene so good base camp. Very clean facilities. Excellent walking nearby, beautiful woods and stream. Only thing to mention is bring your own hairdryer or face the dilemma of a hair dryer that requires a 50p piece to work! Worth coming just to view this relic! 🙂
