About The Dower House Hotel
The Dower House is a family-run hotel set in around two acres of gardens a couple of miles from Lyme Regis town centre, combining Victorian country house character with a more relaxed, informal style of service. Its nine en-suite bedrooms are individually furnished, and the grounds include an outdoor heated swimming pool used through the warmer months.
The hotel's restaurant and bar are open to non-residents and serve a straightforward menu built around local ingredients, and ample on-site parking makes it a practical base for guests arriving by car who want to explore further along the Jurassic Coast as well as Lyme Regis itself.
Its slightly out-of-town position and garden setting suit guests who want quiet evenings and easy parking over a strictly walkable town-centre location, with Lyme Regis a short drive away.

★★★★★ Wonderful stay – warm staff, lovely rooms and perfect location I stayed at The Dower House from Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th August and could not have been more impressed. Every single member of staff I encountered was genuinely pleasant, welcoming and incredibly capable – nothing was too much trouble, and everything was handled efficiently and with a smile. Our room was spotlessly clean and exceptionally spacious, with a huge, extremely comfortable bed that ensured a great night’s sleep every time. The location is absolutely ideal – perfectly placed for exploring the Lincolnshire coast, the beautiful Wolds, and for enjoying leisurely walks around the charming, picturesque town of Woodhall Spa itself. I would highly recommend The Dower House to anyone visiting the area, and I would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Just returned after a one night stay after being in the local area. Really impressed with the level of professionalism and friendliness of all the staff we interacted with. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and due to the great weather we made the most of a pre dinner drink to soak up the last of the days sun. The dining experience was top class, with a good menu on hand coupled with an extensive wine list to match your chosen dishes. We found the prices to be very reasonable especially with the quality of food presented at our table. We will definitely return in the near future and recommend the Dower House to others if needing a base for business or pleasure when in the area. Thank you to all staff we had the pleasure of meeting during our short stay, your a credit to the Dower House! Best regards, Nicola & Lee

This hotel is outstanding, set in a lovely quiet location. Beautiful throughout. The room we stayed in was stunning and very clean, the extra large bed was extremely comfortable. The food is very good and well presented. This was our second stay at Dower House Hotel, I would highly recommend this hotel

Beautiful Edwardian hotel and location. While the staff and rooms were lovely overall, and breakfast was very good, we were a little disappointed with the evening meal. We would stay at the hotel again, but would perhaps try an evening meal at one of the restaurants located in the nearby village which were all in walking distance.
