About Dyfi Adventure Campsite

Tucked into the Dyfi valley near Machynlleth, this small, unfussy site sits right by the River Dyfi – perfect for waterside walks, wild swims and lounging on the riverside beach. The real draw is what lies beyond: acclaimed mountain biking trails, hiking routes into the Welsh hills, and Snowdonia National Park just north. Sandy beaches at Aberdyfi and Barmouth are both 35 minutes' drive.

Back at camp, the vibe is relaxed and sociable. Campfires and barbecues are welcome, there's a communal firepit for evening gatherings, and the facilities cover the basics without fuss. It's popular with walkers, cyclists and anyone after spectacular scenery without the polish of a commercial park. Note that quiet hours kick in at 10pm (total silence by 11), and there's no drinking water on site, so fill up in Machynlleth beforehand.

Exactly as described, this is a relaxed and easy-going campsite where everyone was respectful throughout our stay. It was so refreshing to find a site where you don’t feel on top of each other — the pitches are spacious, well spread out, and there’s plenty of safe open space for children to run around and explore freely. There are fire pits available for everyone to use, with logs conveniently sold on site. We were initially a little anxious about staying without electric hook-up, but it actually turned out to be lovely and gave us some proper quality family time. The toilets, hot showers, and washing facilities were a huge bonus, and we never had to deal with long queues. The nearby river was beautiful too, just a short walk away, with families and fellow campers enjoying paddling and relaxing by the water. It’s easy to see why this campsite is so popular with bikers, walkers, families, and couples alike. At a really cheap price for everyone to enjoy!

A wonderful location in the Dyfi valley just 15 mins from Mach. It's an open field with two toilets and two showers so it can get busy with the numbers, the facilities are very basic/rustic but the showers provide hot water and the toilets aren't long drops or portaloo. They are essentially proper toilets and showers in a shed.

There is supposed to be 15 camping patches however there was double that during our way and we had to move because people were parking so close. We had gone out for the day and came to the pegs of our tent being stolen, our wooden chocks for the van - which we found another person using across the field and the zip to the tent half open. The toilets, showers and basins don’t seem to be maintained regularly and are very dirty. We would have left and gone to another site however our regular local campsite was fully booked. The person who was staying next to us also felt the same! We wouldn’t stay again which is disappointing as we are in the area frequently. The campsite needs to be monitored better.

Beautiful campsite with everything you need! Toilets, shower and a stream for a cheeky wild swim (it's very cold though!!). Made the booking short notice (the morning of) as the campsite I was staying at was infested by mosquito and I was being eaten alive. Wanted a campsite where I could sit and enjoy nature, not be held hostage in my tent. Sian was very quick to reply and book me in, she saved my holiday!! All the amenities were in a clean condition, logs can be purchased but I brought my own. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, gutted to be leaving and can't wait to come back!
