About The Midland Hotel
The Midland opened in 1903 to serve Central Station, and it was built to impress: Burmantofts terracotta and polished granite outside, marble and mahogany within, and a scale that no later Manchester hotel has matched. Charles Rolls met Henry Royce here in 1904, a fact the hotel has never let anyone forget. The Grade II listed building has now been part of the city for over 120 years and has been refurbished repeatedly without losing the essential Edwardian bones.
There are 312 bedrooms and suites, which makes it one of the largest hotels in the centre. Standard rooms are comfortable and unremarkable; the money is better spent on the higher categories, which are considerably more generous and look out over Peter Street or towards the Central Library and the Town Hall Extension. Because of the size, the hotel handles conferences and weddings alongside leisure guests, and it has eleven meeting rooms taking up to 700 people.
Dining is the strongest reason to stay. Adam Reid at The French holds four AA Rosettes and has been rated among the best restaurants in the country, working a tasting-menu format in the hotel's original dining room; Mount Street Dining Room and Bar is the more relaxed alternative, and afternoon tea in the Tea Room is a Manchester institution. The Rena Spa has a pool, thermal suite and gym. Location is central: the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester Central and Deansgate are all a few minutes' walk.

Wow! Absolutely excellent from the moment we entered the building. Our first stay at the Midland for our wedding anniversary, will not be our last. The staff were exceptional, rooms were stunning and we were made to feel very special. The check in was friendly and straight forward, bar staff couldn't do enough for you and cleaners when walking around the hotel were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, the fresh omelette and pancake chef was a lovely touch. Have recommended to everyone we have spoken too. Top class, thank you

I loved the outside and reception area which was well decorated and maintained. Had my breakfast which had decent options and the area was lovely atmosphere. The room though was smaller than other hotels I used to stay in Manchester. I was feeling cold despite me keeping the heating at maximum. So I had to ask for portable heater which worked well. The room itself had a cupboard, mini fridge, complimentary water,tea, coffee,biscuits which was handy. Window view had some broken glass piece and unwanted stuff in that small area which was unpleasant. Would have been nice if that area was maintained well [picture attached] Finally they reception staff who checked me in was very nice. But I registered to their loyalty club and provided the staff with that number so that I can start collecting points for my current and future visits. As the staff who was checking me in could not add my club card number he asked his senior for assistance. The senior who came seemed unpleasant as I heard him saying to the checking in staff,just add the clubcard number, but anyway she won't get points due to her type of booking. If that was the case, it would have been more polite if the senistaff directly mentioned it to me with explanation as I don't know why I wouldn't earn points for my staff. Decided not to make any future bookings at this place.

Had an amazing experience staying at Midland Hotel while I was there for a conference. Excellent location, very central. Super nice and excellent staff Rooms/beds are so comfy. Great food. Great atmosphere.. A special mention goes to Elisabette, who looked after us at breakfast. So pleasant, nice and professional. Thanks to all the reception staff too. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Booked The Midland as part of my 10 year wedding anniversary as we travelled from Glasgow for shopping. Love Manchester for clothes. Had a few bad hotels in Manchester recently with views of alleys or bins so i did ask The Midland for a decent view if possible. We originally booked a Superior Room but on arrival we were informaed we had an upgrade to a junior suite. Room 622 on the 11th June. Walked in the room and it was lovely. Spacious and had a lovely welcome note and chocolates with the bed decorated. Very nice touch and my wife loved it. Hotel was very clean and had a lovely smell inside. A nice old fashioned yet modern look to it. Went for a swim and sauna and was quiet. You do need to phone and book a slot downstairs in advance but i gave one hour warning i wanted to use facilities. Overall, very pleased and as we travel down a few times a year The Midland will definetly be a hotel we will return too and right next to Albert Square so great area.
