About Travelodge Manchester Sportcity
Ninety rooms make up Travelogde Manchester Sportcity, a straightforward budget hotel just off the A57 on Birch Street, around three miles from Manchester city centre. It's a practical base for visiting the city without paying central prices, with on-site parking available, though spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and can fill up.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available on request, with accessible rooms also on offer across the hotel's two floors. Some rooms are showing their age and the beds don't suit everyone, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly. On site there's a restaurant and bar, plus meeting rooms for anyone travelling on business, and an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it. Staff are consistently singled out as helpful and friendly, which goes some way to making up for the tired decor in places.
Pets are welcome, and there's a pub nearby along with other entertainment options for evenings out. Reception operates around the clock, useful for late arrivals or early starts. It's a no-frills stay best suited to guests who want value and convenience over polish.

What guests say
Really lovely and helpful staff, very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Rooms basic but clean and good selection breakfast offered. Would recommend it for overnight stay.

Checked in, walked down the hall to the room, opened it, took a good look. Used the wifi to look for somewhere else to stay for two nights at minimum notice. Not even going to try and argue for a refund. The place is a dump pure and simple. The beds are falling apart. Sure the bedding is mostly clean, but the fabic on the bed frames is falling off and worn out The bathroom wreeked of damp, with black mold around the shower. It was spacious, in that it looked like a 50s school toilet room. We left in under an hour, the stay somewhere else. The staff were very polite and helpful. This is not worth anymore than £25 a night, as somewhere to crash out in after a rough night out.

Excellent value and perfect for Co-op Live! I booked this hotel specifically for its proximity to Co-op Live, and it was an easy walk to the venue. At £52 for the room, the value is hard to beat. It’s also a great spot for runners, as it's only a 1.8-mile warm-up walk to the Philips Park parkrun. Parking was very reasonable at £4.90 for 24 hours. Despite some of the negative reviews I’d read, the staff were all incredibly polite and helpful during my stay. I honestly don’t understand the bad press—I had a great experience! I would take an upstairs room

Checked in and went to our room, it was small and had no fridge or microwave. The shower was older and was a little difficult to turn on. We could hear everything in the hallway and even some of the neighbors. The neighborhood is industrial with no food places around really. The vibes were weird. Bed was rock hard and uncomfortable, but we saw no sign of bedbugs so that's a plus! Rooms were clean. Really it was just the lack of amenities and the atmosphere, not very comfortable so we actually ended up leaving within an hour. Not our cup of tea.
