About Longs Inn

Longs Inn suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-fuss stay rather than a country retreat with all the trimmings. Set on Bedford Street in Milton Keynes, this is a former coaching inn dating back to the 1600s, and it still carries some of that traditional character alongside more modern touches in the 15 guest rooms, each fitted with a flat-screen television.

Rooms are relaxed and unfussy, with drinks available in-room, and the property has a restaurant and bar on site for guests who don't want to venture out for meals. Breakfast is included, free WiFi runs throughout, and there's a garden for those wanting a bit of outdoor space. Practical extras include free on-site parking and luggage storage, and pets are welcome, which makes it a sensible stop for travellers on the road or those visiting on business.

Its location in central Milton Keynes puts guests within easy reach of the town's key attractions, making Longs Inn a convenient rather than indulgent choice - a solid, well-placed option for anyone who wants comfortable basics and a bit of history rather than a full-service resort experience.

extremely disappointed with our stay. We paid over 200 pounds a room and we had two rooms and both were old dated and disgusting. Definitely needs a deep clean as there was mould in the bathrooms and mountains of dust everywhere. As someone with asthma aswell i really struggled. On arrival i noticed there was loads of dust on the floor so had to ask the cleaner to hoover. It was only as time went on i noticed more and more dust. I would definitely not recommend this place, when we spoke to the lady at reception on departure , she didn’t even apologise for the conditions we had to stay in.

Absolute Disgrace – Anti-Pet and Unprofessional We were refused service at check-in simply because we travelled with our dogs. I called 4 days in advance three times, twice to explicitly confirm their pet policy and the third time to advise I had made the booking so we would be allocated one of the dog friendly rooms . Staff assured us over the phone that bringing our dogs was absolutely fine and we had been allocated a courtyard room which was dog friendly. Upon arrival the man on duty who advised he was the owner! showed zero empathy or flexibility, he advised he was not aware we had dogs and had no dog friendly rooms left and refused to let us stay as the other rooms had carpets. When I advised him I had called and showed him my call log, he stated as I didn't have the name of the people I spoke to then I had no proof what I had talked about. He also advised he had no idea who was working that day as they don't have a staff rota so would have no way of finding out who I spoke to!!! Even if he did find out who I spoke to they could lie and deny the conversation took place. As it was a bank holiday weekend they left us stranded without accommodation with absolutely no notice. We had no option but to turn around and drive 3.5 hours home. The customer service was cold, rigid, and completely unhelpful. A modern establishment should be more clear about its policies or accommodate paying guests. Avoid this place if you view your pets as family. To make matters worse, they resorted to blackmail. They threatened to withhold our refund if we posted a negative review. This is an unethical, deceitful way to run a business. They try to trap your money to hide their own mistakes. Avoid this place at all costs. They clearly do not care about their customers.

A cost restaurant in a fabulous historic building. The staff are warm and welcoming and we're attentive throughout our meal. Food is really good and portions are generous! We have returned several times in recent weeks and this is fast becoming a favourite for lunch.

Room was lovely, clean, tidy and comfortable. The service was polite when we were able to find someone. My Food was a little bland but presented nicely, hubby enjoyed his burger. It seemed as though we were the only people in the hotel and we weren't told until we checked in that there was no breakfast available which was very disappointing. At check out we just left the key in the drop box as there was noone around to give it to or say goodbye.
