About The Beach Hotel
The Beach Hotel is a Victorian property standing directly on Minehead's seafront, with the beach and the start of the South West Coast Path immediately outside. It is notable for being run largely by apprentices, an approach that has earned it a strong reputation locally and a loyal following among returning guests.
The 14 rooms are individually decorated, and several make the most of the hotel's position with views out across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. The atmosphere is friendly and personal rather than corporate, in keeping with its independent, community-focused running.
Its seafront position means the pier, promenade gardens and town centre shops are all within a short walk, making it a good choice for visitors who want to be right on the beach without paying for a larger hotel.
What guests say
What a location! The hotel can be found opposite the most delicious ice cream we have ever eaten. Car park also conveniently close by and just £7 for 24 hours parking. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and very professional. The food was delicious and cooked to a very high standard. The room was spacious and very clean. It was a shame we were only able to stay 1 night and will make sure we book longer next time. We cannot recommend highly enough

A friend and I stayed here for one night as part of a tour of the south west, and really enjoyed it. Our room had a beach view with a large bay window, and the room itself was comfortable. We experienced a warm welcome from the moment we entered the building, with the attendant on reception going out of his way to check if our room was ready, to allow us to check in early. We were asked what we would like for breakfast the previous evening, to make it easier for the apprentices working in the kitchen and we opted for the full English - this was great. Minor points, but there appears to be no dinner service (there are plenty of options nearby however) and the WiFi didn’t extend to our room, but this wasn’t a huge deal. We would stay again.

We had a two night stay here in June. Found it to be very comfortable and clean. Staff were lovely. Our room was spacious and had a sea view. The breakfast was excellent. Only quibble was we could have done with more towels and a bath mat. All in all a great place to stay .

Hard not to give 5* review as this hotel is run as a charity helping young people and serving the community. Location is excellent, sea views from the room and just opposite West Somerset Railway terminus. Very friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding breakfast cooked individually to order. Criticisms are minor: dull room decor, no embellishments, no pictures, dated doors and windows. No evening restaurant service, but then you're spoiled for choice within yards of the hotel for places to eat. Car park small and awkward and only takes about six cars. Places not guaranteed and other local parking is paid. Having said all that, there was a great range of top quality teas and coffees in the room and real milk provided. WiFi was over 250 Mbps and TV was all internet connected. It was a really nice place to stay, but fear of not being able to park might well prevent me from coming back. Thank you Beach Hotel for a great stay.
