Glen Trothy Caravan Park
GLENTROTHY CARAVAN PARK, Mitchel Troy, Monmouth NP25 4BD, UK
Riverside touring park a short drive from Monmouth town
About Glen Trothy Caravan Park
Glen Trothy Caravan Park sits tucked into a sheltered valley along the River Trothy, a few miles south-west of Monmouth and within easy reach of both the Forest of Dean and the wider Wye Valley. This small, quiet touring site offers a limited number of pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, many backing directly onto the river. The appeal is straightforward: genuinely rural surroundings, a peaceful riverside setting, and a short drive into Monmouth for shops, markets and restaurants.
Facilities are no-frills but perfectly adequate for self-sufficient campers—showers, toilets and electric hookup on most pitches—though those wanting extensive on-site amenities may find it a touch basic. Dogs are welcome, and the site's modest scale keeps it noticeably quieter than larger campsites over the border, making it a good choice for couples and families after easy access to the Wye Valley without the crowds. Pitch numbers are limited, so booking ahead during summer is worthwhile.

What a fantastic site. The wardens on site are helpful and friendly.Showers excellent and along with toilet facilities very clean. A lovely children's playground in the centre of the park. It was nice seeing families enjoying themselves and children's playing cycling and wearing themselves out in a safe environment until late in the evening, but even then the noise level on the site wasn't obtrusive. I would heartily recommend a stay here. It is Ideal for the Town of Monmouth and trips to the Forest of Dean. Both myself and my partner plus and our dog. Thank you Chris Sharon & Skye.

We recently ventured out on our very first caravan trip and we’re so glad we chose glen trophy for our first trip! We had an issue with our jockey wheel and my husband went to reception for some advice and without hesitation the lady grabbed us the perfect piece of equipment to help with our stay. The site is perfect for families with children, the toilets and showers were spotless can’t think of a single fault.

Beautiful site just outside Monmouth, with new manager this year who has made her mark by lots of small changes that add up to making the park very user friendly. There are lots of seasonals who are happy to lend a hand, a central play area, facilities are all clean and tidy, grounds are well cared for with some lovely large flower pots, and a water fountain as you enter. The manager is so approachable, and happy to help in any way she can, the park is child friendly and dog friendly, it’s a gem.

What a lovely caravan site. Even better when dogs are welcome 🤗. We are here for 3 nights and are looking forward to some peaceful walks and quiet time. Yes it's children friendly too. lovely little park for them to play. There a pub 2 miles up the rd and Monmouthsire town not to far too. Fingers crossed the weather stays good too.
