Monmouthshire's Wye Valley draws walkers and explorers year-round, and Bryn Cosyn sits on its rural edge near Shirenewton, a short drive from Chepstow. This detached lodge gives you a whole property to yourselves: one bedroom with a zip-and-link bed, one bathroom with shower, and an open-plan living space that runs from kitchen through dining to lounge. The electric woodburner and smart TV anchor the sitting area; the kitchen has what you need to cook properly rather than just reheat. Patio doors open to a garden with seating, and there's parking for two cars on site.
If you're bringing a dog, the five-acre paddock is the main draw—they can roam freely while you sit out with a coffee. The essentials are covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi included. No smoking inside. Chepstow Castle and Tintern Abbey are close enough for an afternoon visit, the Wye Valley Walk passes nearby, and the Forest of Dean is within reach for longer woodland days. Usk and Monmouth both have pubs and restaurants when you'd rather not cook.
