Slieve Donard Resort and Marina

I first would like to commend the staff, especially the young men and women whose service was exceptional! Now onto this magnificent hotel. I loved all its fun corridors and sitting rooms. The bar area is very comfy and the drinks are delicious. My wife had the best espresso martini ever! Aside from the "scrambled" eggs, all our meals were grand. I'm not a golfer, but if I was, this is where I would frequent. I can only hope to return.

Returning to the Slieve Donard with my 95 mum should have been a wonderful experience for her. And in the main it was. Our issues were the room as we had hoped for a sea view (this had been requested) but when we arrived we found our room was rear facing. We were advised the 'accessable' rooms were both rear facing. Why? Does old age or a disability not allow you a sea view? Breakfast was self service and possible not what i expected from a hotel of this quality. It was all good other than the soda bread which resembled a rock! Shaun the restaurant Manager did a great job to help my mother and i and he is to be commended. Beautiful room though and the hotel is immaculate. All the staff were very helpful and did try to help. Could do better for disabled or elderly guests and improve breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at the Slieve Donard Hotel and would happily return. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and the setting is simply breathtaking. Nestled between the Mourne Mountains and the sea, the views are spectacular and make it a very special place to visit. What really made our stay, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team we encountered was exceptional—from reception, to the spa, to the Percy French restaurant. Everyone was warm, friendly, attentive and genuinely accommodating, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. Their customer service is a real credit to the hotel. Our room was lovely and beautifully styled. I really appreciated the classic, heritage feel of the décor. The only small suggestion I'd make is that the rooms felt a little dark because of the deep green walls combined with the blue ceiling and skylights. Perhaps introducing a lighter colour, such as cream, in some areas might brighten the space and allow the beautiful woodwork, artwork and lighting features to stand out even more. The only aspect of our stay that didn't quite live up to the rest of the experience was the food. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one area that felt disappointing compared with everything else. We found the menu a little limited, and while the food was okay overall, it wasn't particularly memorable. Breakfast was similar—the sausages were nice, but the scrambled eggs, which are usually my favourite part of a hotel breakfast, unfortunately weren't to my taste. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive way it's intended, because everything else about our stay was fantastic. With a few improvements to the dining experience, I genuinely think this hotel would be very difficult to fault. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable—we're already looking forward to coming back.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at the Slieve Donard. The hotel is beautiful, the bed was incredibly comfy, and the spa was deeply relaxing. We also dined at JJ Farrell’s—the food was delicious and high quality, matched by top-tier service. Plus, the views from the room, spa, and restaurants are simply breathtaking. We experienced a slight issue upon check-in, but Richard the GM was an absolute gentleman and extremely accommodating in sorting it out. The only minor downsides were that the jacuzzi jets were a bit too aggressive for my girlfriend to fully enjoy, and the TV casting service wasn't working. Staff were quickly sent up to assist, but since the system was newly implemented, it required a maintenance follow-up. It didn't bother us though, and we had a wonderful night regardless. I highly recommend staying at this fantastic hotel!
