About Donard Hotel
The Donard Hotel occupies a corner spot on Main Street in Newcastle, County Down, a compact 18-room property with the settled, familiar feel of a long-standing town hotel rather than a grand or historic pile. Its size keeps things simple: a manageable number of rooms, each with drinks provided, and the kind of straightforward comfort suited to a short stay by the coast or the mountains.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar on site, along with a garden, meeting rooms, and space that's sometimes used for weddings. Breakfast is included, free WiFi covers the building, and practical extras like luggage storage and a laundry service are on hand. Pets are welcome, and free on-site parking makes it an easy base for driving in and out of town.
Newcastle itself has plenty within walking distance, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, and the Mourne Mountains rising close by for anyone wanting to get outdoors. It's a no-frills option that puts guests near the action without much fuss.
