About Golf Links House

Golf Links House has traded on the Dundrum Road side of Newcastle for close to five decades, run as a family business combining a boutique guest house with its own restaurant and wedding venue. The dining room seats up to seventy and runs a seasonal, chef-led menu alongside the accommodation side of the business.

Rooms are modest in number but well kept, and the guest house's location on the shore puts Royal County Down Golf Club and the Mourne coastline within easy reach, alongside Newcastle's own seafront a short walk or drive away.

Its combination of long-standing local ownership, a proper restaurant on site, and a shoreline setting makes it a good option for golfers or couples wanting a smaller, more personal stay than the town's larger hotels.

We had our wedding at this stunning venue on 12/04/26. Patrick and his wonderful staff couldn't have worked harder to ensure our day was perfection. The wedding food was absolutely delicious, (not disappointing like most wedding venues). We stayed overnight and the room was immaculate with a spotless en-suite bathroom with shower and the bed was extremely comfortable. Will definitely be back.

After a fire in our original wedding 8 weeks ahead of the big day, we found ourselves needing to organise a new venue at the last minute. Looking back now, it honestly feels like a blessing in disguise because we couldn’t have asked for a better place than Golf Links House. From the moment we first met Paddy, he went above and beyond to make everything as easy as possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble. He was always happy to chat through ideas, make changes to suit what we wanted, and genuinely cared about making our day special. By the time the wedding came around, he felt less like the owner of the venue and more like a friend. In fact, so many of our guests assumed he was one of our friends because of how approachable, relaxed and involved he was throughout the day. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The high wooden ceiling, beautifully decorated with strings of fairy lights, created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere and looked incredible in our photos. The food was exceptional, with so many of our guests commenting afterwards on how good every course was. One of the things we loved most was the layout of the venue. Having exclusive use of the main function room, the bar and the restaurant gave everyone the freedom to enjoy the evening however they wanted. Some guests danced the night away with the band and DJ, while others could relax in the restaurant and enjoy a quieter catch-up without feeling removed from the celebrations. It made for such a brilliant atmosphere all evening. The staff also deserve a huge mention. They were incredibly organised during the meal, making sure everyone received the correct food without any fuss, and were attentive, friendly and professional throughout the day. Every member of the team helped make everything run seamlessly. We honestly can’t thank Paddy and everyone at Golf Links House enough. What started as an incredibly stressful situation turned into the most perfect wedding day, and that is largely down to the care, kindness and professionalism of everyone involved. If you’re looking for a wedding venue where you’ll be treated like family and where every detail is taken care of, we couldn’t recommend Golf Links House highly enough

Awful experience, the management is simply dishonest. I made a reservation in April 26 for an upcoming trip mid June. However, i reserved by mistake for the very same day i made the reservation, meaning in april instead of june. The management got in touch with me the next day so i realized my mistake, and asked for modifying to the correct date, 2 months ahead. Only answer i got was "sorry you ll have to go through the reservation system again". Meaning, "we keep you money even though we d have plenty of time to update your reservation". I wrote back several times, without an answer. This is appalling.
