Mission House

Mission House is a single-storey detached property in Marvig, a quiet village on the isle. The entire living space sits on one level: an open-plan area combines the lounge, dining room and kitchen, with a woodburner for cooler evenings. Two bedrooms sleep up to five people – one with a double bed, the other with bunks and a pull-out single suitable for a child. There is one shower room with heated towel rail. Essentials including electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are covered; initial fuel for the woodburner is also provided.

Outside, a lawned garden with sitting-out area and space for al fresco dining faces towards Loch Mharabhig and the surrounding hills. Two cars can park on site. The setting suits families and those after a quieter stay; the enclosed garden is secure, and travel cots and highchairs are available on request. One dog can stay free of charge.

The surrounding area is rich for outdoor activity. Loch Mharabhig itself invites kayaking and paddle-boarding in sheltered water, while several nearby lochs hold fish. Walking trails radiate outwards, and the pebble beach at Marvig opens onto the Minch. Sea otters, seals and white-tailed eagles are frequently spotted. For a short drive, Seaforth Viewpoint and Aline Community Woodland boardwalks are close by; further afield lie the Callanish Stones, Luskentyre beach and the Golden Road on Harris.
